Anyone else staying at the Holiday Inn Greentree?

It's on holiday drive. I'm quite sure there will be other furs there but I'd like to know who they are because me and my mate won't have a ride to the convention center. I've never been to Pittsburgh so I don't know what the travel is like there. But I figured it would be much easier if there were other furries there anyway going to the con. |

You are a good five miles away. I recommend getting a cab.

*Winces* You've done a lot of traveling, Kage. Are cabs expensive? I've heard they are. Even for five miles. Might it be a lot?

I'd suggest going to Google and searching for Pittsburgh cab fares.

*Blanches* Oh goodness it IS expensive but I have to say they're at least reliable. Thumbing a cab should be no problem really regardless the time of day. Well I'm glad I asked. I'll be sure to bring some extra money for the 15$ a day or so cab fair. Thanks!

permalinkRemember to tip the cabby.
You don't want to be one of *those* people who they hate picking up. I'm not sure how much they tip cabbies in PA.

*Nods* Myep that's why I'm over-estimating the amount a little
Don't worry I'm not one of those people.

permalinkYou are a good few miles away, I would recommend closer accommodations.
Even when a con is in a person's home town, they usually choose to stay at the con hotel or an overflow hotel as close as they can get. You stand a chance on missing out on a lot of the fun. (Just ask any Dorsei!) Next Friday, the hotel will be collecting the non-refundable one-night's deposit. I expect they will get a certain number of cancellations.
Good Luck!

*Shakes head* There's no way to cancel. I've already paid in full. But it's fine because I'm on sort of a budget and I had to pay for the accommodations on my own. I was really looking to get a good deal. I'll be bringing NoDoze though, just in case I want to stay up for any of the action. Besides me and my friends are not real 'party furs' anyhow ^^. We like our peace and quiet when it starts to get late. Some nice pillow talk and a good night's sleep is what we like. So hopefully we won't miss out on too much
