Possible Error?

I am not sure if this will apply to everyone and all, but this morning checking my e-mail I received once from the Westin as below:

Good day from The Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh!

We are looking forward to having you join us for the upcoming Anthrocon convention. As we are preparing for your arrival, we wanted to send you a friendly reminder of the deposit that will be taken on all reservations with your group. On April 25th, 2008 a non-refundable deposit of one night’s room and tax, equating to $140.22, will be applied on the credit card that you provided upon booking your reservation. After April 25th, any cancellations made on Anthrocon reservations will forfeit the one night’s room/tax deposit.

If you need to change the credit card on your reservation, or would like to cancel your Anthrocon reservation before the deposit is applied, please contact the hotel prior to April 25th. We will be happy to make the necessary adjustments for you.

Now that didn't sound just right to me, so I sent an e-mail back asking for a break down on the total per night charge, including all the taxes and in a reply I was told:

Good afternoon! I would first like to apologize for the incorrect information that was provided to you in my previous email. The actual amount of the deposit will be $131.10 as opposed to the $140.22 that was originally stated. $131.10 equates to one night’s room and tax (14%) charge, which will be the same amount due for each night of the conference.

So if you got one like I did above, I'd say double check with them if the rate seems off, they may have sent this in error. Just my two bits.
