For further stuff to share with your mom, you could also do a little digging and pull up folks' photos from last year--most end up looking a little like a less commercialized, low-key disneyland. You could even cherry-pick a few conversations from this message board, so she could see what sorts of stuff we talk about and how we talk to each other.

There should be no reason for your mom to love you any less just because you are furry.

i asked her if i could go to the con and she said shed have to find out info before she says yes or no but did not tell her im furry but if any of you want to talk to her let me know
If you so desire, I've talked to a few "newbie furs" parents on their behalf to ease their folks into it.

Actually, now i think of it, why not invite her to come talk to us here?
The board's pretty darn clean, she'd be talking to some of the same folks you'd be meeting at gather, and there are a lot of folks around, like giza and kage and sgt. steve, who are founts of useful information and good PR. IIRC, the last time a furry parent turn up on the board, we seemed to to a pretty good job of making that guy feel welcome and at ease.
Just a thought.

Although some bots are programmed to grab those too. Most people will figure it out with no problem

my mom wants to know what time of the day dose the con start any help?
i cant wait to meet all you guys! ive been actuly getting naousioius with antisipation.
I plan on meeting everyone on my buddy list, and then some. (So I guess I plan on meeting you too. XD)

Also, why not ask your mom to come along to the convention? The Chairman's parents attend every year, and mine are attending this year. Let her see first-hand what the con is about; she'll probably have a good time. We are also working on a "so, your kid dragged you to this convention" type of panel for the parents.
