Hotel Room Changes?

Alright, suppose all my roommates hit financial troubles and decide to abandon me this year at AC? I have a double room booked at the Westin from the 25th to the 30th, but seeing as I would be the only person, it would be a waste for me to have such an accommodation all to myself when there are so many others that are desperately wanting a room to fit more than 2. Now I'm not 100% sure that none of my friends rooming with me are still not going, but my question is that if the worst case scenario comes, is it possible to perhaps request a king bed room instead of wasting a double room? Is it possible to request this upon arrival to the Westin in June, or a room swap with someone else? I guess I'm unsure; I'm just kind of a wreck now that I have more work to do to fgure out even if any of my friends can make it this year or not... *scratches head furiously* Just a quick question I need answered, and hopefully it went into the correct forum topic. Ridiculous as it sounds, I haven't yet called the Westin, because I never use the phone for anything. Seems like it would be one fantastic idea, though. I'll get to it if people that were supposed to be going with me will make up their mind! >.<
