PASSKEY reservation note: Autoresponder for confirmations is broken.
VisitPittsburgh reports that the autoresponder that is supposed to send out registration confirmations is on the fritz. Gail and her hardworking compatriots at the Housing Services offices will be sending out confirmations by hand over the next few days. Be patient!
Oh lol ok I was getting worried I didn't get an email confirmation or anything. I'll be patient.
Yea, good thing I printed out my Conf Number. I do that to be safe in case something like this happens.
I honestly wish I had been smart enough to at least take a screenshot of my confirmation number. I know it told me I had my reservation. But now I sit here waiting for both the email and for that first day's charge to be applied to my card.
I, too am waiting for the email...the page already told me it went through. Had this problem with Furpocalypse where it wouldn't go through the first time, had to do it again, it went through...but didn't get an email....aaaand for some reason they told me I booked 3 rooms 0.0 Good thing I wasn't charged for all of them >.<
I also booked on my Kindle Fire HD (er, no pun intended XD...get it, BOOKED?)...hope that didn't screw up the booking process :/ Wish I had saved the confirmation number as well..
I booked on my phone but I did think to write down the confirmation number and other info so I'm not too worried.
I got mine printed off. But just has the acknowledgement number
Woo, got my email. All set.
Screenshot is always a good plan just in case. I received my email several hours later. Be patient, they're doing their best
Yes, this! ^
Screenshots are always a good idea when making any sort of reservation ever. Personally, I use Skitch (https://evernote.com/skitch/) to do a screen capture and then immediately save it to Evernote. Once in Evernote, I then create a folder for whatever trip I'm taking or convention I'm going to, and store everything related to that trip in the folder--screen captures of reservations, itineraries, picture of my luggage when flying, etc.
Me, I just hit ctrl-P and make a hard copy of the relevant pages as I make my reservations. (Or any other large and/or important transaction on the interwebs.)
Computers are nice. But hard-drives crash, backups fail, the "cloud" goes down, etc. And nothing beats having a piece of paper to wave under someones nose when things go FUBAR!
Me, I just...make a hard copy of the relevant pages as I make my reservations.
Of course - I also took the precaution of writing down the details using these old, fuddy-duddy tools called a pencil and a note pad. It is the information which is important, not the means of recording ("documenting"?) it.
