after a long debate with myself i finally decided id try to make it to ac this year and pre-registered as a supersponsor about 8 hours ago.

i noticed that it said the e-mails for early hotel reservation were sent out on the 30th before i registered.

so im wondering, am i still able to get an early reservation e-mail or is it only if u were a supersponsor before the e-mails went out?

AnthroCon is a great event.

It is dependent upon great people.

A key to AC's success is that it is run and staffed entirely by
volunteers, who do what they do because they like AC.
These volunteers do what they can in between jobs and other
things like school and family.

So, there's nobody patrolling the notification email inbox 24/7,
awaiting new signups to send out another early reservation email.

Perhaps someone will send you something that you'll get before
main reservations open. However, I wouldn't count on it.
AC can offer certain benefits to Supersponsors, dependent
upon TIME. If you got Supersponsorship NOW, you're certainly
eligible for the Supersponsor Lunch, which is not the case if
you signed up a few days before AC or at the door. As for
the reservations, check your emails, but the odds are against
any large advantage. You MIGHT get something right before
the main reservations open, giving you a headstart of minutes
or an hour/hours on the others. Then again, that's all you'd
really need, since most attendees can't reserve before the
general reservations open. Check your inbox, cross your
fingers, offer up a prayer, etc.

MOST AC ATTENDEES DO NOT WEAR A FURSUIT OR ANY FORM OF COSTUME.

well im not complaining or anything im really just curious xP

i understand all the benefits as this will be my 4th anthrocon  and i have been a supersponsor at it twice before.

but it was the first time i was in this particular situation where they day i decided i was gonna go was inbetween the dates when the e-mails went out and when everyone is allowed to book their rooms.

im fine with either outcome but just curious about which one i would end up with, since if i was gonna get the early room reservation then i may as well use it x3

Send an email to me at ceo(at)anthrocon.org.  While Blackjack is usually right, I am actually patrolling the mailbox this morning.

I'll make the same point as BlackJack, but I'll be a little blunter.  Anthrocon is run by VOLUNTEERS.  Nobody gets paid.  That means the Board of Directors give up time during the year  to attend meetings, set up with the hotels, meet with the DLLCC reps.  They have been known to carpool, four people in a relatively small car, across the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania just to save the con a few bucks.  The give up their free time that they could be spending with family, friends or lovers to make sure Anthrocon is the best it can be.

So now you're asking that, even though you became a Supersponsor AFTER the room cutoff, can you get the advance registration benefit?  You might.  Kage tries to be a nice guy.  But he might want to visit his parents this weekend.  He might want to see a kaiju movie.  He might want to watch the Super Bowl.

The Board members and the Staff ARE entitled to have lives outside Anthrocon...

Thanks, Charlie.  But Lancer's in luck today.  I happen to have a very rare day off, and was just lazing about and decided to see what emails had piled up.  Lancer's been taken care of, hotel-wise.

Notice that I said you TRY to be a nice guy, but that there are a few minutes of your life that don't revolve around Anthrocon.  (VERY few.)  Since you decided to be a good guy in this case, that's fine.  I was just saying that you might have been doing something personal this weekend that would have prevented you from being your typical nice guy.

All dogs go to Heaven, so you might get an awkward reception there.

Of course they do.  The Pope just said so.

All I know is that if there really is such a thing as an immortal soul, and there is "some great reward" waiting for us, all the fuzzy little friends that I have lost over the years WILL be there waiting for me.

Thank you, everyfur who attended Highwing's, Skarlath's, and my Zootopia panel!  We hope that you had as much fun attending it as we did producing it!  Will we do it again this year?  Yes!  (Day and time TBD.)

yes i understand that and im very thankful for everything they've done at each anthrocon.  but i was never demanding that they have to hunt through e-mails or had to do anything for those who are late in registering.

as i said i was fine with either outcome, if i was too late then i would have been fine with that.

i just wanted to know what was happening since i didnt see any info regarding those who registered during this small time period, and it would probobly affect which hotel i end up with.     and with such a small time period of 2 days i guess i felt a bit uneasy not knowing what was happening and got a bit hasty to ask

so Would it be too late for me then? I also applied today. I know Doctor Conway listed his email in a response but not sure if I should use that since he linked it for another member or if he would be alright with me using it.

I can't speak to your situation, but I can say that CEO(at)Anthrocon.org is publicly available to everyone. It's not a secret or anything. If you poke around this site, there's a public email address for almost every AC department.
