Well the 26th is like a day for everyone to socialize and meet new people.
The opening ceremony starts all the programs and whatnot for AC

permalinkYou should arrive the same day you happen to be there. If you arrive before you are there, you won't be able to do anything since you're not there yet. If you arrive after you're there, you'll have missed out on all the things you had been doing while you were there. Therefore, logically, you should only arrive when you get there.

Well I personally always arrive on the 26..
It allows me to sleep after a long bus ride.
And also I can walk around the city before the con officially start .. ^^
