Kage, I was just wondering . . .

Why is my membership payment to Anthrocon listed on my credit card bill as "TANNING/BODY P"? And what does the P stand for? body painting? body piercing?

Or will I find out when I get there?

There is no reason it should be listed that way. All payments to Anthrocon are listed as "ANTHROCON INC" on credit statements. I strongly urge you to contact your bank and inquire what is going on at their end.

PS: I think my email is fixed now. You should be able to reach me directly.

It is going to "ANTHROCON INC 0018 MALVERN PA", but American Express has chosen to describe this charge as "TANNING/BODY P".

why? I think it's the perfect codeword

So... could you tell if it means Tanning as in the fur profession, or tanning as in getting a tanned by a bed with lights? Smiling I assumed whoever categorized it was a city fellow, so assumed the latter for a tanning/body piercing.

Unless... it does refer to something like tanning/body preparing as in Taxidermy. Bear face

I think taxidermy would go under hunting/fishing

least I would hope, that'd be a one time experince for a fur to go to the wrong place. but... waht would a stuffed and mounted fursuit go under?

Oh, believe me it has one. Both Kage and Giza each have their respective finger on it.

Yes, I've seen it in action too. But I think users need one to delete their own comments. I can't help but make a rather dirty comment now and then, and I'm limited to editing the post rather than taking it down once the silly moment has passed.

Should I make the posts in the first place? No. But I'm working on it. In the meantime, there's dirty jokes for anyone who gets post-by-post email updates!

Okay, now I must ask. Why was PNC calling "ANTHROCON INC" "TANNING/BODY P"?

The "business type" field in the bank's computer is a numeric code. The difference between "tanning/body etc." and "membership organization" is a transposition of two numbers in that code.

In short, data entry error at the bank.
