Local events you visit before the big convention?

A couple of days ago, we had a local event here, the 2008 MNFurs Spring Picnic, which featured a couple fursuiters and a lot of hungry furs! One giant potluck followed up with some great entertainment. This year, I followed in the footsteps on Funday Pawpet Show and entertained our guests with our own version of Subservients. It was a great deal of fun, and a lot of people were very amused by the random acts of goofiness. Most of the day was very cool (temperature-wise), so it was very fursuiter-friendly.
