Might End up booking at the Wyndham this year (can possibly get  a very exceptional deal on it) and wanted to see if any of the regualrs here had thoughts and comments on it. Know its slighlty further than the Marriott I had stayed at before  Online I seem to find rather mixed reviews from what I've searched.

I got a room there, and have one person sharing it with me and trying to get two others to get with me (they are trying to find rides and such)

Its far yes, but price is so much better and they have a shuttle to the convention.... More rooms in it then the western but less floors. I am giving the hotel a shot and going to be giving it a HARD look on how i like or hate it while i visit the fur con. Sometimes you cannot trust the online reviews. Then again, you get what you pay for.

So, JumpingHorse,
in regards to Talonsaurn's question,
have you stayed or visited the hotel before,
and if so, can you offer any personal insight
on what you personally saw?

Well I offically am going to be in the Wyndham this year, so roughly July15 expect a full report from this giant lion(among other beasties) about how it is. I couldn't beat the price though, 40 a night cheaper than the con rate..Admitedly the stress of dealing with priceline kinda couneracted that, but still..

I'm optimisitc..Honestly I have simple tastes in hotels, had a bud who stayed at it last year who found it a very nice hotel but complained about the walk, caveat... complaining bout walking distances isn't exactly a new thing for him... I'm a walker by nature so don't really mind. Long as i'm not walking through a ghehto with gunfire everywhere i'll be fine.

Will certainly be attending this year now that the money is sunk and I'll be able too see all my furry buddies again

Well, i stayed at that hotel for the whole convention. I was on the 7th floor on the west side facing the river on a corner room. A stander two bed room. Honestly it was a nice room and a nice hotel. The only things i did not like about it was the non stop A/C vent.. which yes made the room cool but without a vent to suck in the room air, you could smell the damp, musk, mold mildew smell. Even when you enter into the room you were hit with it. The bathroom door had no lock and it was a sliding glass door, and the shower head spread the water out HARD, wide and fast! Getting water everywhere but your body.

The bed was comfy and the people had feathers in them and i didn't know that but i am okay with feather down pillows (just never used one before) The maid on our level that did our room was SUPER NICE & FRIENDLY. She smiled and loved that time of year when some fur suiter would stay in the hotel. I showed her my suit in and also while i was out of it. Some of the maids even wanted to see how drank stuff as i had a long straw and open my muzzle without taking my head off. There was a family reunion at the hotel, which i was able to meet them and find a few people to say hi. Some group of people wave me over and were like "This GUY needs a HUG badly!" but as i came over he would run off! Sad Still it was fun. There was some lady singer concert happening that week, a wedding also in the hotel, and a math convention at the hotel! SO it was busy. Some nice person wanted to buy me a drink at the bar on Thursday night while i was in suit.

The walk from the hotel to the convention yes was about 15 minutes or so but it was nice to explore the city. Staying at the westin your there and just walk to the convention center so why come all the way down to my end? Sticking out tongue The anthrcon shuttle was good but some how he would come 10 minutes early and LEAVE! On the day of the parade i was 10 minutes early before noon at 11:40 (so i could make it) and the shuttle was already there and it was a shock. He did wait for another ten minutes but after that left. One of the shuttle drivers took a picture of me for his kid, which i felt was nice. Most of the time i would walk up liberty st or Penn ave and not take the shuttle (when it didn't rain) and the weather was nice while in my fursuit so not too bad and got to meet people and pose for pictures.

Its the walk, that is really the problem if your not a walker or explorer. The hotel was nice in my view with some problems but the staff was very friendly and nice and didn't look twice if you were in fur suit. I even lost my wallet in the hotel and they were very helpful in helping me find it and stuff. Anyways, i would give this hotel a 7 to 8 star rating. Also whilei went to the westin for a late night party, they had the same size room like mine.

Oh that reminds me I have to give my Report as well, Stayed at the Wyndhym from Thursday evening to sunday morning. A bit of a good time since the hotel accidently double billed me for my stay, found out about it a few days ago, settled very fast with just a quick call so nothing wrong there, good service for an occasional traveler..

Forget my room number, Think I was on the eighth floor, had a gorgeous view of the river past the point area, had to take photos of it even and set my little stuffed lion and red panda up so they were looking out of the view as well. Room was quite nice in general as well, nothing I can remember worth complaining about

The AC I belived had no connection to the thermostat whatsoever... I experianced quite cold evenings for that reason, the first night i didn't sleep well. after that I adapted fine, but yeah its something i've come to expect from hotels, better than cooking in a hotel room

The walking was fine, have had no trouble with it, A bit of a hike that took me around 10 minutes or so. Being a cautious lion was very thankful for the shuttle buss back at the wee hours of the evening, I don't mind walking home in my own town at 1 am, in a city I don't know that well.. well would probally not haved stayed at the wyndym without the shuttle option

Agree on the shuttles, at the start of the con they kept on schedual, but by the time it was midway through it felt as though they were just doing the route rather than trying to keep to a certain time to be at each place, The baseball game of course did mess up traffic alot

(Posting in thread for others' reference)

I stayed at the Wyndham this past AC. Overall, it was a great stay. The parking garage is right across the courtyard, so its not connected to the hotel but still a 1 or 2 minute walk. Parking there from Thursday afternoon to Monday morning came out to around $70, which isn't bad in my opinion. The courtyard is beautiful in and of itself, and since AC is held in the middle of summer, it was a great place to hang after a couple of drinks with some friendly furs. The actual room was good; comfy bed, good teperature control, decent wifi. Wasn't anything too fancy, but definitely wasn't bad. The restaurant at the ground floor was my primary choice for breakfast in the morning. It was so good! I don't remember it being too pricey, either. You can have them serve you or you can go up to the buffet and get your food from there. Breakfast was the only meal I ate there because I was over at the convention center for the rest of the day hehe Smiling. Speaking of which, as mentioned above, the walk from the hotel to the convention center isn't too bad if there's no rain, and you're not in a suit hehe. It's pretty much a straight shot from the hotel to the Westin/ convention center, so you won't really need a map or GPS to guide you there. Takes about 10-15 min. The Marriott is also in between the two, where I know AC held some events this year, such as the military fur breakfast.

The Wyndham hotel is also the furthest hotel from the con, so you probably won't be seeing as many furs in the lobby as you do in the Westin or other adjacent hotels, but that wasn't too big of a deciding factor.

I would recommend it, if you're fine with a little distance!
