I'd love to go to the Anthrocon this year. Me and my best friend are DYING to go. But unfortunatly we can't because we are too young to drive[15] and our parents don't know we are furries..and they don't exactly like the furry fandom, so I HIGHLY doubt they will take us. Now or ever. Any ideas? If not it's alright; I'll just have to wait until next year or Anthrocon 2010

Yours Truely,
Bee<3

This is an rather odd difference between our fair country and yours.
Even though we've had the CSI episode aired here, even though we get a lot of news from your country, even the seemingly "weird" ones. Still if when i said i'm going to a furry con, my parents were, "duh?".

Either your media coverage of the fandom is immense or parents in your country check out every thing from internet which would at first glance be harmful. This is only my observation though, made out from similiar posts on this and other forums.

And in the end of it. Are you absolutely sure your parents know what being furry really is? See, there is the "what is furry" Attendee info for example, which lightens up the actual thing behind the fandom, not the grittybits you might stumble upon on mass media or dark alleys of Internet. You could try showing this to your parents too.
