Just wanted to post and say hi! As the subject says, this is my first time at AC. Actually, my first time at a furry con in general. I do DragonCon every year, but that's really a mixed-media con. Made a resolution this year to get out and do something in the furry world. So here I am! Finalized my registration the other day, have my plane ticket, and have a friend to crash with. I'm really looking forward to this (even despite the stomach butterflies) and am counting down the days! See you all there! |

Pandemonium,
Welcome to Anthrocon! You'll find that we're a pretty freindly bunch and the convention can be quite fun. We'll be posting our event schedule quite soon, so keep your eyes on the web site or LiveJournal community for updates.
I'd suggest coming to the "So this is your first furry con?" panel. It happens on Friday, and is a good introduction to Anthrocon and gives some helpful tips for making the most out of the weekend.

permalinkGrrr...
I'm not one for the conscious consumption of insects of any ilk...
So who put these stupid butterflies in my stomach?
Yeah, I'm getting horribly nervous.

Pre-con nerves about your first Anthrocon are natural. The best way to remove them is to take care of what you can take of- pack things early, organize your finances, plan a few things in advance. Once you have a gameplan, it'll feel smoother.

*hides the fact that he has packed and unpacked and packed again over the past week...and will probably do it again within the next week*
Truth be told, I always get nervous before cons, though it dissipates once I'm off the plane. I know I'll be fine. The waiting, as they say, is the hardest part.
