My Furry Suit Question

YES i know its not really called a "Furry Suit", but i couldn't resist... Okay, My Q is this: Would you buy, if you could spare the money and wouldn’t mind spending it in the first place, a ultra high detailed Suit like one from there, but worry about damaging it, or would you settle for a lower, but still awesome, detailed suit like one from mixedcandy.com? You see, even though I am VERY careful with my stuff, I still use it. And when I use something, I *USE* it. Its like this: Take my shoes for example, I have only had my current shoes for two months and I already need new ones (badly worn). But my suit won’t be used as much though. Still, I worry. Any answers? For those that noticed, i asked this already in one of my other threads, but i got no answer... |

I know, and same here for both, but i still would worry about it. And even though i can only go to one each year, i will still wear it at random occastions.

permalinkTrue, but the better suits probably hold up better under use. I know my expensive shoes outlast my cheap ones.

im not really one to reply to this or anything nor do i think i'll be much help, but my advice would eb to talk with the people that your considering to make your furrsuit, ask them question about what will happen if you use it to much, etc.

Hehe, you got that wrong. you don't have to worry about paying the last 70% untill the last month!
"You start off by paying 30% to be added to the list. Once you have been placed on the list, you do not need to pay the remaining 70% until the month before your commission is due."

hell yes a tiger like this realistic would kick @$$ if I had the spare cash but I would have no doubt if I had the money go and find the most detailed suit I could and if you want shoes that last practically for EVER switch to boots they in general increase your stamina and strength and I want to get some steel boots and maybe use them with fur and make a new character with it and shield and armor but best boots ever made for the price they're a pair of boots (leather) from Orchelins they're a store that sells farm supplies like stock tanks drills saws pets and farm animals I've worn literally the shit out of them. the leather is very fine and tempered so if you take care of it by applying polish to all of the scratches they last you 4 ever a little of the right polish and those five year boots look like freaking NEW!!! and I even run in them out at track football and the farm I've accidentally slid a pop vendor machine door over them (while filling them... I work at a place that has one) and SHIT was I pissed but It came right out with the polish^^ (bought at orchilins) pronounced OR-shil-ins

An old thread but worthy of a comment...
I prefer suits that don't show dirt, and I always make an extra set of footpaws and make sandals that fit them, cause thats the part that I wear out.
Good quality fur will outlast the cheap junk anyways. It also helps to have a lining, not just to protect the fur, but because it feels nicer on your body and helps hold it together, thus making it stronger. (IMHO)

Im not much of the realistic furrie person, partly because my furr looks more tonny (large anime eyes) so more than likely Im going with eather furrhappnes.com or lacy.timduru.org

Personally, I would get the best I could and just take very good care of it.
From my experience with purchasing many things (lol) The better the quality, the longer it lasts.
If you go with mixedCandy I can garuntee their suites will be extremely well made, as well made as some other more popular places, only difference is the style.
Alot of Fursuite creators also do any repairs needed as you wear the suite, so wear and tear over time is taken care of. Some of them set up a day at the con specifically for fix ups and the like.
