Shhh! Here's a Work-in-Progress shot of a piece that will make its debut in the Art Show this year!
This is part of my "Peter and the Wolf" statue series...well, if it becomes a series. The instrument is redone, using intstrument repair techniques and equipment, into the animal it plays in the Prokofiev piece. Here is #1, the "Clarinet Cat." The entire sculpture is made ONLY (and entirely) from pieces of the instrument and adhesives used in the manufacture/repair of woodwinds. So far I have 30+ hours invested into this work. It is not finished. If I manage it, I will have a photo book showing WiP shots of the entire process at the Art Show. Comments are encouraged. Serious, respectful critiques are appreciated. Stealing of this idea will make for a very, *very* unhappy instrument-repair-tech-in-training gryphoness. |

Yes, it will be available for purchase in the Art Show.
The muzzle from the side looks a bit long, yes. It was made from pieces of the bell and mouthpiece and I may have extended it a bit too much.
But taken overall it's rather cat-like, especially from the back.
Others I'd like to do, depending on whether or not I can get my hands on an old instrument, are flute, horn (very unlikely, but one can hope!) and oboe (again, VERY hard to find, but we can hope!)
Outside of the "Peter and the Wolf" theme, I have plans to torture-errr, resculpt a saxophone and a trumpet.

How dare you dismantle a clarinet to sell! I am highly offended as a musician! *Sarcasm*
It looks nice though. Keep it up.

*laughs* Call it revenge for having played it for over 20 years, over 10 of them professionally.
And thanks!
