A note for those leaving on Sunday

If you are leaving Anthrocon on Sunday afternoon or early evening, not only will you miss Closing Ceremonies, but there will be a bike race going on just a few blocks away. It will result in some significant street closures from about 4 PM to about 7:30 PM, so if you intend to be driving -- and especially if you need to get to the airport -- leave yourself a lot of extra time. permalinkI know I'll be affected because I will most likely be parking in the lot opposite
the Omni, which is just south of 6th Ave and just west of Grant St, two of the streets being used by the race. It's poss. I may move to a diff parking lot--see the Parking
page as part of Travel Information--just before the race so I can make an exit
by 7 pm or so. Closing ceremonies are usually over by 6:30 (in my case I don't
fly out till the next day but am staying at a motel nr the airport on that Sun night)

another parking map:

Ninth and Penn (weekends, $5) might be a possibility as it's nr
the Con but just outside the area of the road race.

I'll be there until Monday, but I think my friend Aelius should be informed of this, too.

Much thanks for the heads up. Sadly I can't weasel or stoat my way out of another work day, but perhaps with a mid-day nap my beau & I can leave after closing ceremonies and get home late. I really wouldn't want to miss it.

Yeah, we're going to be pretty much right in the middle of this. Do you have any idea currently about the 28X? I'm going to be double checking with the airline when we get there, but if you already have the information that would be awesome.

Your best bet would be to watch the News Releases page on the Port Authority website. They announce detours due to upcoming events, but only within the next few weeks so there's nothing about the Tour of Pennsylvania just yet. You can also call Port Authority Customer Service at (412) 442-2000.
