Important Artists Alley Announcements!

Hi there! This is your Artists Alley/Con Store Manager here with a couple of announcements for all of the artists who I hope will be joining us in Artists Alley this year.

First off, we have some great news! Last year we had a huge influx of folks wanting seats in the Alley and, as many of you know, some folks were unlucky enough not to get a seat on Friday or Saturday. At Closing Ceremonies we committed to expanding the size of the Alley and we have done exactly that! Anthrocon 2008's Artists Alley will be almost 50% larger than last year. As with prior years, we will continue to have a lottery and random selection of artists, but if we have more seats than artists, everyone will get a seat! We have tried to streamline our processes to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for all of our artists (including buying spanking new cash registers!), but we ask your patience as we strive to accommodate this huge expansion.

Also, an important note for artists using the Alley on Friday: Please remember that artists can hang their art in the Art Show until 6 PM on Friday. We recommend that you secure your seat in the Alley on Friday morning (i.e. stay for signups and choose a seat at the tables), then step away from your table for a few minutes to hang your art. All we ask is that you let someone on Artists Alley staff know that you'll be away for a few minutes. We'll understand, really!

Remember that Artists Alley Signups will be taking place in Rooms 303-305 in the Convention Center from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM on Friday and from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
