If you have not heard already, torrential heavy rains caused a HUGE flooding problem in Iowa and nearby states along the Mississippi river. This forcd many roads to be closed. Its still big a deal to this day. My roomie for AC lives in Dodge City Kansas, and plans to drive. Of course, anyone with even a slight knowledge of geography knows he needs to cross the mighty river to get to Pittsburgh, unless he drives hundreds of miles into Minnesota to go around it. The only problem is, he has not found any luck finding any open roads online (and neither have I) to get across the river and along it. Anyone knows a way?

As far as I can tell, I-70 is still open at its crossing of the Mississippi River. For updated road information, this page has links to each state's DOT page. (you'll have to check each state separately).

Do what Moses did! Raise your staff so God may part the mighty waters and allow your people to cross! Then Pharoah's pursuing armies shalt be swept away after thee!!

Glad I could help. :3
