Anthrocon Dealers - If You Have Power...

Hi kids! This is just a quick heads up for those dealers who'll be using the provided power in our big and spacious Hall C. Some of you may not be familiar with how the system works, or you're new to the con, or maybe you've just forgotten already, so here's a quick filler. The hall does not have what you would consider "outlets", but instead has a serious of floor panels with connectors to the building's power in them. A high-capacity heavy duty cord, generally referred to as a "drop", is run from one of those connectors and out from that point. This cord has a number of outlets on the end (normally six or eight), and any powered dealer in the vicinity shares that set with any other nearby dealer. To put it succinctly, you may only get one, singular outlet, and it may well not be in the most convenient of places compared to your dealership. There is only so much we can do about it, so what do we suggest? We suggest that any dealer who will be using power plan ahead and bring an extension cord and/or power strip with them. (Surge suppression is not necessary.) We unfortunately can't provide any of these on-site, so if you even think you may need one or the other or both, make sure you've them with you or are prepared to acquire one within Pittsburgh. Any questions? Feel free to ask! Just remember, with just a week to go we can only check the forums (flail flail flail) or LiveJournal so often, so sending to dealers-2007ATanthrocon.org will get the fastest response possible in these hectic final days! |

Thanks! I was wondering whether I needed to bring a power strip.
