I've been in communication with the lead for the Fursuit Games on Sunday, and I want to provide a bit of information on how things will work this year.

First thing, we do recognize that lots of fursuiters will want to participate in the games. However, we had over 350 fursuiters in the parade last year, and anticipate more than that for this year. That is far more people than we can reasonably accomodate in the games. So (unfortunately) the number of participants in the fursuit games will be restricted. Initially, the plan (as it's listed in the programming guide) indicated that up to 64 individuals can participate. However, the games lead has come up with a method for allowing more participants in the games. We will not be able to accommodate more than approxiamtely 96 people.

Second thing: We will not be having signups in advance to secure a spot in the games. You will need to arrive at the convention center concourse (outside the main ballroom) on Sunday before the start time of the games if you wish to participate. It will be first come, first served. Arrive a bit early if you wish to participate. Once all spots in the games have been assigned, everyone is welcome to watch as a spectator. We will definitely be needing wranglers, handlers, and assistants for set up and to help the games move along. If you are so inclined to assist, please come early to the concourse and let the games lead know that you are wanting to help. He will greatly appreicate it!

Third thing: The Sunday games are fairly active. They will involve performance skills as well as some strenuous activity (running, retrieving objects, etc). If you feel that you won't be able to stay for all of the games (or that you can't physially complete them), please allow another performer to participate. We will have different sets of games called "Red Rover for Fursuiters" and "Fursuit Charades" earlier in the convention should you wish to participate in some less strenuous games.

Will be seeing everyone at the convention!

I take it that dodgeball this year is out of the question? I heard some rumours floating around that the DLCC didn't like seeing so many projectiles...

(I was laughing my tail off when I hit Takala in the ankle last year. XD )
