I get an acute case of this at every Anthrocon art show!

I think the most popular effect of Anthrocon is clinical lycanthropy. Eye-wink

From the end of my adolescence, and for most of my adult life - before I knew that others were like this, or that there was a "Furry Fandom" - I suspected that...what you mentioned...might be involved, somehow.

It was something of a letdown to quickly discover that most Furry Fans were just that- Fans. But surely not ALL of Furry Fandom was "just fans" - and that gives me hope for something approaching, or at least resembling a "Reasonable Fox-simile" of a functional and effective life, even though a frustrating one.

...And I CAN be an enthusiastic Furry Fan, as well as something else.

While I do find the effect of the AnthroCon Artshow to be overwhelming, moreso each year - It was following the link about the effects being most pronounced when listening to music of the Romantic era. MOST music has a profound effect on me, Classical Music especially so; but I would have to say that that particular era and style, from Beethoven through Rachmaninov, overwhelms and "takes over".

Sounds like what happens when you drink 10 straight cups of espresso...

...or one cup of the tar-like sludge employees used to get for coffee when the machine would break down at Six Flags when I worked there long ago. You could actually stand a spoon straight up in that stuff.

I didn't even know my heart could get up to 250 bpm until then! X_x
