In 2002, Anthrocon was in Philadelphia and its theme was "Invention." In celebration thereof, we invited Ralph Archbold, Philadelphia's "official Benjamin Franklin," to make an appearance, which he did, much to the delight of all.

I am pleased to announce that Ralph Archbold, Philly's official Ben Franklin, has just announced his engagement to Linda Wilde, Philly's official Betsy Ross. The wedding is scheduled for July 3 on the steps of Independence Hall.

Wait... if Ben Franklin marries Betsy Ross... will that cause some sorta retrograde temporal paradox until the backwards running expanding void engulfs the entire universe, like the last episode of Star Trek, TNG?

But yeah, I DON'T remember Ben Franklin from 2002, probably because I wasn't there at the time. Though I will give a shout out of congradulations, of course. And perhaps have a hope that they might make a quick appearance in the future, such as AC'09.
