It depends where you eat.
Some of us will eat the breakfast buffet at the Westin, and have meals at Buca di Beppo
together, or eat in the Westin's "Original Fish Market". All excellent meals, all
priced like you'd expect.
A few blocks from the con is the Golden Palace (Chinese restaurant), Fernando's Cafe
(sandwich shop), and the Steel City Diner (diner), with probably the best prices for
full meals in the area. For those who eat VERY light breakfasts, there's a few places
under the Westin that are better deals, and the Kwik-E-Mart across the street from the
Westin sells beverages.
Prices everywhere else will vary. Fast food places will cost what you expect. The
concession stand in the Dealer's Room, picture movie theater prices. The vending
machines are typical for hotels or other vending machines.
So, prices vary depending on where you go.
I'll plan for a few nice meals and otherwise keep food expenses down, but you can
eat zero expensive meals and save more money than me.

I wouldn't know. I don't think I eat during the con.

permalinkActually I've seen you move around at relativistic speeds...I think you've actually mastered temporal displacement. Technically, I don't think you *exist* during the con, at least any sort of existing that normal humans can comprehend.

I thought you were a cockroach, not a quark? Or is that atoms?
I can never remember.

The desire to dream is primordial. Some evolutionary process has instilled life on this planet with the ability to dream. It is essential to survival. Even dogs dream.

The rule of thumb is that the minimum expenditure is $20 a day on food and drink. Most people will spend more than that (especially with good tips for good service!)
We have a restaurant guide included with your convention membership that will list many fine places, and even that only scratches the surface of downtown Pittsburgh. There'll be a place you'll find that you'll enjoy eating at, and can suit your budget.
