www.weather.com says that it's going to be scattered t-storms for Pittsburgh this weekend. Your fursuits and my new suede Pumas are really looking forward to this, I know. |

Reading the forecast, I see phrases like "Scattered Thunderstorms", "Isolated Thunderstorms", and "A few thunderstorms possible".
I think that's substantially different from "RAIN ALL WEEKEND".

Intellicast says 40% chance every day, which means sunny during the day, pop-up storms in the afternoon or evening.
Think of it this way: fireworks visible from your hotel room EVERY night!

Well, it just means that Uncle Kage will have to bring an umbrella when he goes to try to interview them.

rar...
Considering I'll be there any precipitation will be short lived and probably not even equal an inch all weekend. For some reason there seems to be a weather forcefield around me that's about a county in size, storms will approach, split apart and go around like in a cartoon. This is proven scientific fact and it makes me mad cause I like rain.
Besides there's the walkway over the street between teh westin and the convention hall.

With the exception of Tuesday and Thursday, it seems to call for rain in just Scattered and Isolated fashions, meaning not everyplace in Pittsburgh will receive rain nor in the same amount. Of course, its always a good idea to carry a umbrella just in case.

I shall repeat myself:
IT SUMMER IN THE MIDWEST! 30%-40% is almost meaningless.
Bring your rain gear and check the radar before you walk to dinner, but seriously, it's not going to be sheeting down the whole weekend!

With a 30-40% chance of rain, I don't even bother taking an umbrella. Besides, you can always check the weather radar at the 'Net terminals or your own laptop (free WiFi) before going out, and fursuiters can already access the convention center through the skywalk.
If you have Web access on your cell phone, you can access weather forecasts and local radar at http://cell.srh.weather.gov.
Matter of fact, I think I'll bring my new suede Pumas just to dare it to rain
