Just came back from the hotel restaurant where the greymuzzles (older furs)
and military furs had a breakfast. A very good time! I was surprised to see
that the restaurant was in a new location, and sadly there was no buffet as before
but maybe it was just as well. It would have been distracting to have us keep going up and down to get food (as much as the buffet HAD been good!) but instead we were gathered at our various tables and got in some good conversation! Hi to all who were
there including RonBear & MrsBear from MA etc!
The turnout was pretty good! Much more than I expected.

Nice big group again, Buffet would have been stylish, good to see
everyone! Note to self, suggest giving the hotel a heads up at the
closing ceremonies

Unfortunately for me, I missed the MilFurs/Grey Muzzles affair; I woke up with a headache, the first in over a year, possibly brought on by running out of meds for hypertension. I also missed the "Rails n' Tails" panel, essentially for the same reason.
The Profession of Arms is both honorable and necessary, and I had wished to pay homage to those who currently serve and have served, and recognise their very real sacrifice; also the past contributions of the Grey Muzzles, who hlped form the fondations of what this fandom has grown into, and who may yet contribute and provide a guiding paw for those who follow.
The "Rails 'n Tails" thing would have been at least informative, probably fun as well, as that is the current focus of my career. I had been looking forward to learning more about the Cape May Fur Meet.
Damn! I've GOT to find a local doctor, so that I can get my prescriptions updated, and start the hypertension meds again. I don't like watching the B/P monitor creep up day by day; it was 161/101 the Wednesday before the Con; prior to the expiration of the original prescriptions last month, it was a controlled 117/75.

Sadly I could not make it to the MIL furs breakfast.
It was one of the few days I was able to sleep in for a few hours.
But it was good to see my fellow army furs around while working the con.

permalinkI would have enjoyed the breakfast better if the Westin didn't sit our little group Away from the rest. Why? Because I was in a wheelchair and they would not take me up to where evryone else was. Again, faulty planning for handicapped furs.

permalinkHell, that's easily overcome! Would be glad to help you not only
up but also down the stairs! I think the group ended up at 4
seperate tables. I'm certain that for next year, giving them a
heads up would make things go a little more smoothly.

Sorry to have missed it but for two "stupid" reasons.
- fighting with insomnia left me stealing an extra hour of sleep once I *could* fall asleep
- I, ah, didn't even realize the second-floor restaurant was *there* until too late on Saturday.
Maybe next year? I'd love to attend.
