The white board is used by the video crew to set white balance. It basically ensures that on video, white is really white, and not blue or green or orange.
Apparently us furs are easily amused enough to find the white board amusing. This fact amuses me, in turn, and probably a lot of other less easily amused people, so, we are all amused.
Oh who am I kidding, I'm easily amused too.
So yeah, it's a running joke of sorts.

It was moreso a joke from last year.
If I remember right, it was brought up there to entertain before one of the big shows like the improv one, then brought onstage during it as a little gag. Of course, it was brought back...and cheered for before closing, and then again as you saw this year.

Okay, during 2's show in 2007, the crowed was being really silly, any time a stage crew would walk out to set something up, the crowed would cheer. The guy who set the white board up caused the crowed to go crazy, after everyone adjusted their camera to the white board, they removed it, after that, everyone started chanting 'WHITE BOARD WHITE BOARD!" At that time, 2'gryphon runs across the stage with said whiteboard and the crowed goes apeshit once again thus spawning the silly inside joke of whiteboard.

Whiteboard is a prime example of why god hates furries. DO you think all that rain and lightning was a coincidence? He kept trying to hit us for the Whiteboard fiasco last year. Now that Whiteboard is some furries lord and master I fear for my life.
