Australia to AC and back
Over $4,500, 55 hours and 23,500km's to even get to the con, I'd have to say yes, it was worth it.
Being from Australia, there's not a great deal of face-to-face contact with other furs and after a number of years, I decided to go ahead and spend the money.
Unfortunately jet lag made me miss out on a couple of things I really wanted to see, but next year will be better, I'm sure
A huge, wonderful, loving 'Thank you' goes out to all the new friends I've made, those who helped me struggle to cope w/ my first time in the US-of-A... Also, especially to the staff at the Westin who are just amazing and extremely patient. Fernandos, delicious food always served with a smile...
Don't worry, next year I'll be so much more prepared and can hopefully make many, many more new friends...
Also, hopefully I'll be over my self-conscious nervousness to actually thank Uncle Kage for making everyone feel so very welcome.
I'm glad you had a good time! I know a British friend I made this con said meeting folks helped dispel some of the notions he had about Americans (created by our notorious leader Bush).
I know there are several furries in Australia. This list might help you some, but it hasn't been updated since last year: http://www.furry.org.au/mayfurr/aussies.htm
Though most of this site is down until next year sometime, the forums are open and might be of use: http://www.furstralia.org/
"Furry is a state of mind."
*shudders* Jetlag yes, i experienced that too, plus i found out someone came to the con from even farther away than me ^^
Flying from Finland was a long trip too and i hated it but it was WAY worth it too, i mean WAAAAAAY worth it, i'll raise my hat to you though, flying from Australia? Wow, points to you sir. Still, awesome that you too liked it, it's a bit costy but i'm back next year
Yeah I was still suprised that there were so many Eurofurs and furs that came from outside the country. I didn't feel quite so bad about my flights. Next time I will have to make it my business to meet some of you and buy ya a "Welcome to solid ground once again," Drink XP.

Are you saying you made the trip from Australia to the US and back just for Anthrocon?
