well, Im not sure if im the only one who has these issues, but every time I try to post something, I have to retype it and resend it because an error occurs when posting. ive gotten into the habit of copying my post before actually sending it in order to keep from having to type the same thing over again. This all started about the time the update was made. Before, I only had that issue when the computer had been running for hours and needed to be rebooted. Now it happens even when I boot the computer straight up and get on the site. Ill make a copy of the page when It happens and post it here. CJ |

I just checked through the error logs and did not see any system or PHP errors recorded recently.
You might want to have your machine checked out for spyware, etc.

Here's the key part:
> Cannot find server or DNS Error
For reasons unknown, the DNS lookup is failing. Since no one else I know of is affected, that makes it less likely that the problem is at our DNS servers.
Also, since DNS lookups are cached on the resolver, it should only have to perform sporadic lookups. I'd start checking either your machine or the resolver that you're using. (Or just call the help desk and repeat what I said in this comment)

I called my ISP, told them my problem, told them i would be MUCH more comfertable with a person who also is (well, I *WILL* be soon) Cisco Certified, got switched over, and we figured out that my Ubuntu wasn't linking correctly with their DNS server, just like you thought Giza. Anywho, all is fixed now and i havn't seen a problem with it at all,

Getting a little off the topic of the con, I really don't put too much stock into certifications in the computer industry.
My observations have been that having a certification means one thing: the recipient can memorize the answers to questions. The tests don't necessarily measure communication skills, nor troubleshooting skills.

yeah, ive since tried using other computer labs and had no problems. Ill soon be able to get with a freind who works at the help desk to see if he can take a look at it. See, we arent supposed to use these computers for personal use, just for school use, but nobody really worries about the rule unless you openly bring it up, which is what id be doing by walking up and saying, "when I get on a furry board, the computer screwes up"
so yeah, ive got a freind who works at the help desk, im sure he can go in and take a look as soon as I can get ahold of him.
OH, and ill also get him to take a look at the PDF stuff on the computers cus for some reason, i cant get the PDF registration forms on the site to open. Probably the computers here, but it seems all of the computers here have that very same problem. odd, but oh well.
thanks for the advice.
