How much would fur normally cost?

Well I decided that I am going to make my own suit. I already have the frame made (mesh) and do to some unfortunate circumstances I only have 20 maybe 40(depending on how the week goes) to spend on fur, foam, and other add ons. I have a hobby lobby like 10 minutes away from me and I was wondering if anyone knew how much fur(only enough for the head) would cost. I really don't even know how much I need. |

FUr ranges from $9 a yard to $50 a yard depending on what you get. How much you need is going to depend on the colors you use. A head only takes about half a yard give or take if you layout your paterns right on the fur so you don't waste to much.

permalinkI've usually heard the total bill of materials for a self-made fursuit coming out to $300-400, so I'm not sure how far you'd be able to go on that budget (assuming you have to buy everything, and can't "recycle" someone else's fur scraps and discarded foam).

permalinkMaterials for my suit came to around $190 give or take. The materials aren't expensive, its the time it takes to build one thats a pain.
