Im looking around for more anthro type fursuit ideas and Dark Natasha's mane wolf stood out

http://www.darknatasha.com/darknatasha/webpages/costumes/costumes.html

and im currently trying to loose weight to get a good fit although i cant seem to find a good link or email address for a company of fursuiter to build a suit like this apart from lance's (currently waiting for a link/email for him). I really would like to get a suit to the theme of a two toned light grey timberwolf/werewolf style costume. I know that this may cost a fair bit but may i also get some other tips from others with elaborate or detailed costumes about storage, cost, and maintenance?

Just wondering what do non-performing fursuiters do around the cons, would you go around to the different events/areas like a normal con goer or do you try to keep into character and go around entertaining others?

thanks

ive been thinking about hydration.

my design for a wolf/werewolf fursuit kind of brought sbout a problem, the shaggy fur, the heat generated will outstrip the sun.

in the design i decided to include a hunchback hump using foam stuck to a cotton bodysuit which will have a shaggy fur stuck onto that, making a cool looking werewolf mane. In the foam o thought about making a cavity for a small 1.5litre camelbak this will act as a cooler but also for non-stop hydration if i get too hot. this prevents the need of taking the suit off/head off to drink. the shag fur can just flap over the filling point so to easily fill, insert or remove the camelbak.

can i get any comments from other fursuiters wether this would be a good idea or not?

Hydration issues are the reason why we have lots of ice water available in bother fursuiter lounges.

yeah ive been reading about it, but it would mean missing out on an event if you have to sit down for 30mins to cool down. which is why im thinking about using the camelbak as a cooler for the suit and a portable water source.

does anybody else use something similar to a camelbak.

regarding the costume ive decided not to buy a custom costume but to make one myself, i mean it would be cheaper for a uni-student and im not going to a con until 2008.

how do others make the mouth parts move as you speak?
and whats the best material to use as the sole of the paws your using?

there a forum called fursuit.org and if you google fursuit forums there 3 or 4 other out there with fursuit makers.a lot of the high end suits use fur from ntf fabrics in maine or nh, most of there furs are used on movie props. most good suits will start around 1,200 and can go up to 3,000 for some of the high end suits.

its a pity though that i live in northern ireland (uk) there is little to no shops anywhere, let alone costume, furs, or fabric shops. i mean for all i know im the only furry here?

but thanks for the info, i have been looking at those and noted advice.
