I NEED A TAIL anyone know where i can get one??????
So i have been in a fursuit b 4 (mascot outfit Jr. High) and i didnt care 4 drowning in my own sweat sooooo, i think im just going to do a partial suit but i need to get a tail (a realistic one, good quality) Pleez help
Also try F.A.P. (Furry Art Pile) or Fur Affinity...look around on LJ in the furry communities. Try visiting clawcast's forums and looking in the art section.
There's lots of places to start
Commission one, make one, buy one, etc.
But if you're sweating that much in-costume, there's something wrong, or rather, something you can do to fix that.
I use Nomex underwear, which helps a lot. Yes, you sweat a lot, but it wicks away and cools you (as long as you move.) You also need something that keeps the sweat out of your eyes. That's a killer. There are also options for cooling. There are ice packs you put around your neck. You can make a shirt to wear under the costume in which you can place ice bags. There are commercially made cool-vests (I believe that's the name brand) that keep you cool for up to two hours.
Most important to keeping cool is breathing (and head construction.) Breathe in through your nose, and out through your mouth. This should take air in through the eyes of the costume, and out through the mouth of it. Circulates the air and keeps you cooler.
FYI, this post is from two years ago. I'm sure the questioner has managed to either get a tail, or find they don't need one that badly.
Well, the webmaster shouldn't have put the thread in the 2010 forums then...hehe

I believe the posts remain in the main forum, unless they're archived. The main title just gets changed every year. Easiest way to see when a post was published is to look directly over the name of the poster/replyer. The year, date, and time of the post or reply is located there.
They update the forum names to match the convention - generally if it's buried 10 pages back with a last posted date of two years ago you know its old.
That makes sense...
...except these weren't buried several pages back. They were on the first page.
This is the first con forum I've ever seen that has old threads mixed with new ones. Why does it seem like I'm being chastized for this? If I didn't know better (and I might not) I'd think I was being blamed for poor programming and organization. And why does this continue to be dragged out? After the 10th post in a row telling me I posted in an "old" forum thread, I got the message.
Besides...I saw some applicable questions, I answered to provide some additional perspective to readers who might benefit.
If you don't want aged forum threads answered, remove them and place them where your front page says they are supposed to be - in the archives.
I hate the written media like this for communication. You sit there and feel insulted by my pointing out a minor organizational issue with the forums. But I'm trying to contribute to the better functioning of this site. I'm trying to help, and you think I'm being rude. Such is not the case, I assure you. The emotions you read from someone writing are your own unless they are directly and explicitly communicated by the writer. Please don't assume you know what I'm thinking or what my emotions are. If I was upset at this issue, I'd have said so. I'm merely trying to offer input.
Can we officially agree that the horse is dead and no longer requires beating?

You can go to any Furry convention and step into the Dealers' Room. There will be at least one vendor of tails.
