I read the weapon policy and that made me wonder if lightsabers would be permitted at the convention? My bro and I were planning on bringing them since its a sci fi themed con next year. We wouldn't be swinging them around or smacking anyone with them because we know better and they are the replica kind so they are not meant for making hard contact with anything. Would that be ok?

Under current policy, the answer is that you could wear them if they are peace-bonded. Since peace-bonding effectively locks the 'weapon' into its sheath or carrier, you would not be able to wave them about.

We're discussing lightening up on that policy a bit, but waving them about at the dance (or anywhere else, for that matter) would probably still be right out.

Hmm I see. We do have toy lightsabers with belt clips so that would work out. Thankyou!
