Our Standards of Conduct have been revised; the new version can be found here. Anthrocon attendees, of course, are always on their best behavior, but even so we do insist that all attendees read and agree to abide by these Standards before accepting a membership badge. Look for online registration to re-open within the next few weeks.

I'm curious as to what changed, but I don't know how to convey the info Sad Bold/italic/red color seems like it'd kludge up the document too much Sad

(1) The general rule was added at the top, replacing the more generic "Don't piss off the chairman."

(2) Some rules regarding the hotel were added: to wit, a reminder that whoever rents the room is responsible for the room AND for the conduct of everyone in it; also made the Westin's housekeeping policy very clear, since some people did not bother to read the introductory letter last year.

(3) The weapons policy was relaxed slightly to allow for prop weapons that can not readily be mistaken for real ones.

(4) The media policy was updated.

(5) A few other changes were made, but since I want people to read the Standards in their entirety, I'm not going to detail them here, other than to say that there is a hidden message in them that will lead those who can decode it to the location of a secret treasure.

I did want to ask a question on the weapons policy, which I didn't see addressed anywhere else. If someone who is attending is a law enforcement agent (IE, Police officer, Sheriff or deputy, Federal law enforcement officer(DEA, FBI, CPB, ICE, etc..)), would they also be required to disarm? I only ask because its likely I'm going to be one when Anthrocon rolls around in '09 and in general would likely be required to carry my duty firearm in the course of my job and my offtime (In my case, as a federal agent with DHS:CBP)
