I know that Ponygirl, http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ponygirl/ , has dwelled in Hawai'i; I believe she presently does. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alohafurs/ appears to be a group that may be helpful.
I'm envious; Hawai'i is the only state in the USA where mongooses run free in the wild.

Of course, during anthrocon, there are creatures of every kind running free in the convention center, which is wild enough for me. I imagine there's gotta be a mongoose or two running free who's not on staff (and as such running, but not free).

Hi! I was born and raised in Hawaii. FerrousOxide, who lives on the Big Island, attended AC this year, I accidentally bumped into him there! I met him first through the AlohaFurs group. Yeah, I met Ponygirl on several occasions. I give her credit for drawing up my character.
