Hey! I was wondering, what's everyone's view on Duel monsters? I love to duel, and if I can find someone else who does, maybe we can play a few matches! If your a big fan of it, and play a lot, contact me, exchange dueling strategies and favorite card info!
Nah. I haven't gotten any lately either. Although, I just had a duel, and I regret to say, the new cards... they saddened me. The newest cards are like ritual monsters, but they don't need the magic/spell card to go with it. It's horrible, I lost miserably because of it. They got like... a 3000 Attack monster out... on like, the 1st-2nd turn.
I know what you mean. Their called synchro cards. IF you are so ticked, make your own. Just use the site I use: http://www.yugiohcardmaker.net/ Trust me, you can make alot better cards with this. Also, as far as favorite cards go, Empress Mantis is mine.
I have madea few of my own cards, but made up cards can't be used in duels. Well, not official duels, anyway.
My favorites are Tyrant Dragon, Cyber Dinosaur, and Red Eyes Black Dragon.
Lol, my Favorite Card Combo is B. Skull Dragon + Gate Guardian, then sacri to summon Maju Garzett. Leaves MGWith atk/def 6950/5900 >:3 Pwnage. I also collect Epic amounts of Rare+ cards, lol.

I have 3 decks... My main power deck, which I've worked on, tweaked and altered into it's current state over a 9 year span. 1 duel against these synchro cards, and it made my deck look like a chump 8 year old put it together. Infuriated I am, revenge I will have. (going to put Uria, Lord of searing flames in, that'll teach em.)
my second power deck was built because my first one is a traditional deck, which is pre-ban. It uses any and all cards (Except the gods Obelisk, Ra, and Slifer. And Foreign cards) this power deck isn't as good, but it's post-ban at least.
my last on is a crappy machine deck, which I slapped together for the fun of it. I like machines a lot, so I put all my best machine cards into it.
Anybody else have any decks they'd like to share?
My deck is mainly based around Paralysing the opponent, Removing Cards from play, and doing damage based on the Removed from play cards.

heh...sweet! ^^ I hope I still have both my decks. ^^; My first deck was basically revolved around removing cards from play and my second deck which I haven't really got a chance to test is my Arcana forces/Luck deck. I pretty much fell in love with Sartorius and the way he dueled so I swore I'd make an arcana force deck. Really looking forward to dueling with all of ya! ^^
I have a BeatDown/Drainage/Paralysis deck, mainly fiends, with a LOT of magic and traps.

OMG, this just came back into to style at my school and so everyone at my school is now dueling, its crazy, so i decided i would bring in my old cards, but within two weeks my cards got jacked 
its kinda lame that people want stuff so bad that they have to steal it
Don't worry... Before the bans took place... I had a deck that had Raigeki, Chaos emperor dragon... Envoy the of beginning and Tyrant dragon in it. I was dumb enough to forget the deck at the local card shop and over half of the cards in it were stolen. Luckily... one of my FRIENDS were one of the ones who stole cards from it, and I got my Tyrant Dragon back. I never did see the rest of those cards again.

Major fan of traps? A good word of advice... Avoid Jinzos.
They are pains in the butt.
Ha ha, Jinzos are both fun and a pain in the rear to fight. Fun when you got a higher attack. (I love killin Jinzo) but when you got nothing to defend with... it can be a huge pain.
Anyway, I love most dragons. (The top monsters in my deck ARE dragons)But my favorite warrior type is Silent Swordsman.

no what I type is the way I talk your talking to some one that didn't leanr english good in school that is what you get when your english teacher drinks while he is teaching
I think what (s)he means is that (s)he speaks differently because english isn't his/her first language.
no english is my first language just my teachers were alcoholics and drake when teaching so didn't learn anything in it
Well, that's too bad. Mine is superb. I was admitted into special courses. (Courses meant for mentally handi-capped people) My older brother was one of the types to not care about anything, which reflected on me. The school thought I was gonna be the same way, so they put me in special courses when it wasn't necessary, so I got more school attention than other students. Which is why my ability to write is as good as it is.

my first language was english but, i can speak two more and i hate it when people critize my way of speaking.
To make it worse, im living in a town where (no offense to anybody) there are nearly all white people. and you get this feeling of outnumberness. everybody first language is english and nothing else till 10th grade when they learn a secoundary language.
im proud to speak three languages when people barely can manage two. but i always remind them that i can use profanity at them and they wont even know.
it sucks to be Hispanic in a town like this but i manage easily.

I really got nothing against other people with different religions and races. I'm white, and can really only speak English well. I do, however, know some Japanese. Only certain words and phrases though. (Thanks to video games)
I've always thought people of other cultures and races were cool. But they never thought I was. I won't type out one thing an African American boy told me. I use to duel against this Asian guy too, he never respected me in a duel, simply because the way I duel. I did meet an African American guy in my animations class. He was cool to everyone, but he really liked the animations I made during class. (Yes, he viewed my project on my PC without permission, but it was fine)
One of the things I have always liked best about Furry Fandom is that we are primarily race-blind. Furries at a convention tend to pay more attention to someone else's "species" than they do the color of that person's skin or religion or background.
I hope we keep it that way.

Well, I'm a bit of an old-school duelist. I don't use Syncho or Union monsters or anything like that.
And yes, I still call them "Magic Cards".
i have over 1000 cards, so i will bring them all.
I used to have 700 cards. Until one fateful day, we had to move. I put every common I owned in a storage unit. I had a bad feeling. I didn't know why, I just did. so I kept my most precious possessions with me. (My Yu-Gi-Oh decks, rare cards and katana) Couple months later, I figure out why I had a bad feeling. We couldn't pay the storage unit! So we lost a good 70% of our possessions.
Sad thing is, I know where it all went. A relative of ours got all our stuff. Including my cards. It was a slap in the face because I got to see all my old cards again. Turns out I forgot a pack Lava Golem in my commons. (Which my brother stole back for me without me even asking him to.)
Moral of the story is... see you at anthrocon! Wahoo!
Yeah, I might bring my deck, I was really into that card game, but havent played it in like 2-3 years. I'll look over my cards ever once in a while, and I'm still amazed that ever one works so nicely with eashother, and Im not just saying that, ever card is compatable with one another. I did a pretty good job, collecting them.

Although you are mostly right, I have to disagree. Like the old cards, yes. Every old card works fine with each other. Like you can use Axe of Despair, Mage Power, and United we stand on absolutely ANY monster in the entire game. Unless it's like Horus level 8 or soemthing that negates spells or can't be targeted by them.
Now, why I disagree... the new cards. I absolutely HATE... hate hate hate the new cards! Every new pack is another pre-made pack. What I mean by that is that every new pack has a specific type of arch-type. For example, Lightsworn. The only way these cards ever do good, is if you use them with OTHER lightsworn cards. Meaning, they do horrible with dragons. They are terrible with fiends, just plain sucky if you use them with anything other than other lightsworn cards.
Thus we come to the conclusion that they are pre-made, since every card you use in a lightsworn deck is already gathered for you, you simply buy enough packs to get all the lightsworn cards. You can't do anything original with them! It isn't just lightsworn that does this too. Gladiators, Blackwings, armor cards, and fortune ladies. You can't do anything original. Heh, serious Yu-Gi-Oh players get mad at me when I say the new decks are unoriginal. There's no way around it, they ARE unoriginal.
WHenever you say "Lightsworn deck" You know what's going to be in it. Every card out there that has lightsworn in it's name. So you know what's coming. Un-like old styled decks. Low level monster decks, beatdown, Burn, and direct attackers. There's such a HUGE amount of cards you can use for these decks, you never know exactly what's going to come out at you. Beatdown can be cards like Mataza the zapper with equips or high attack level four monsters such as Gene-Warped Warwolf or Spear Dragon.
Burn deck can be stuff like Poison mummy and laval golem, or they could be strategies like Bad reaction to simochi with eye of truth. You just can't tell what is gonan be in this deck.
Direct attackers. Could be a combo with gene-warped and shooting star bow ceal. it could be mosnters with the effect to attack directly already, like raging flame sprite. or it could be a deck that incorporates Black Tyranno effect by using heavy storm and other means to destroy opponent's spell and traps.
But when it comes to glads, lightsworn and blackwings. it's always the same thing over and over. every deck is the same because they are all using the same cards. Glads always special summon other glads fro mthe deck. Lightsworn always discards their own cards to gain effects. Blackwings always storm the field. Always the same thing. Why? Because they have NO tolerence for other cards.
I have a LOT more to say about newer cards, but I'll leave it here.

Yeah, I don't know too much about the new cards, ok, I know nothing. I stopped playing and collecting the cards when the Yu-Gi-Oh series ended, and that Duelist Academy Series came out. I'm like, I'm done. But I kept my deck, because it's awesome, and original. I totally agree with what you're saying.
Don't like Yu-Gi-Oh GX? Well, I can see why. I don't mind it. It was soemthing to watch. Now the true FAIL show is Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds. They duel... on motorcycles! I'm not kidding, they literally duel on motorcycles. It's as fail as fail comes. The main character uses the cheapest card in the entire game. Thought Chaos Emperor Dragon was bad? Well, guess again! This card called Stardust Dragon can NEGATE Chaos Emperor Dragon. It can negates absolutely any card that has the effect of destroying one or more cards on the field. Bottomless can't kill it, trap hole can't, raigeki break can't. All you can do is attack it and hope it dies.
Oh, but wait! There's more! It's effect is to sacrifice it, so you can negate an effect. "Hey, that isn't so bad." Yes it is, it coems BACK with it's own effect during the end phase. Which means, if you sac it during the end phase, it coems right back during the same endphase that you sacced it! What's more, it's EASIER to summon it! easier than Dark magician, DMOC Blue-Eyes, Red-eyes, and yes, dare I say... easier to summon than even Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the beginning, Chaos emperor AND Chaos Sorcerer! It's the msot cheapest thign I have EVER seen. I loath it so... much... not even my beloved Grave of the Super Ancient Organism can stop it. That's why I have Karma cut...
Wow, i didnt think that anyone still played. 
Im really out of practice and the last deck i built was a good mix mostly dragon but a few other cant remember right now if i can make it ill bring mine with me. but its going to suck if any of the cards in it are on the ban list. 
wow. i hope this doesnt anoy you all, but i have one of EACH god card (new and old), and many ways to summon them, not to mention i have many negating cards as well. they each have their own deck, and i have verry many other VERRY powerful cards. good luck beating me, i had a lot of practice with them all.
I hate to rain on your parade, but the god cards are banned from all forms of dueling. Traditional, or advanced. (The sacred beasts are A-ok!) However, if you want to duel using the gods, then I'll duel you using banned cards too,and trust me, you won't enjoy. A combination of Karma cut with Sinister Serpent, Dark Magician of Chaos with Multi-Raigeki use. Should make for a worthy challenge to the god cards.
is there a site that i can check what all cards are banned? i have not been keeping updates for around 5 years... actually, i have never cept updates.
p.s. just a heads up, i have REALLY cheap cards that i dont use unless i feel i have to, and im NOT bringing them.

That link has both advanced and traditional. Note, however, that Winged Dragon of Ra, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and Obelisk the Tormentor aren't on the list. Does thism ean they are not banned? No. Originally, the god cards were never going to be manufactured, so they were never added to the list. Why they turned around and created them, I don't know. (At least a playable Obelisk has been made) They should add the three gods now, but still haven't. Also note, Foreign cards aren't on the list either. Although they are banned too. Like, you can't use a japanese card in an English tournament. Makes perfect sense, I mean... Someone whips out a japanese Gandora, Draong of Destruction and tries using it like Chaos Emperor Dragon. It just doesn't do the samething. What really urks me though, is they wont' allow japanese NORMAL monsters. I mean... I can see enforcing the rules, but this is a little much. Japanese Normal monsters are perfectly readable. For Example. A Japanese Dark Magician. Everyone knows his stats. Level 7, 2500 atk, and 2100def. Yet, they still won't allow him. They give the excuse... "If we allow one japanese card, then everyone is going to start wanting to use them." I think that's completel horse... pooh... They just have control insecurities and make sure everyone does what they want... or maybe it's because I'm butthurt cuz I want to use this awesome Dark Magician and they won't let me.
