hello. i was wondering. i need help on info to get to anthrocon. i live in the uk and i just need some info on flights and room share and that type of thing. also can i still buy tickets from the uk? i also need help in what order to get everything done in eg passport ticket flight room etc. aaaarrrgh!!!! its so complicated for me! |

For flights, you can go to any travel site on the internet such as Travelocity, Orbitz, etc.; or you can go directly to the web sites of the major airlines that service your nearest airport. I know that US Airways has flights from Manchester and London/Gatwick. There's also British Airways, BMI, and Continental, off the top of my head. The airport code for Pittsburgh is PIT.
Also as we get closer to the con, we'll have information how to get to the hotel from Pittsburgh Airport.
There will be a roomshare board up as we get closer to the convention; however, this is always a roll of the dice. You may or may not find a roommate that way, and there is always the possibility that your roommate's plans will change. Best to try to find someone you know well, and whom you are certain will be going. You're probably safest getting your own room, which you can do right here from our hotel page (click the link on the left).
You can register for the convention using a credit card by just clicking on the REGISTRATION button up top, on the right.
As for a passport, you're on your own for that one! I suggest you start with http://www.passport.gov.uk/index.asp

We can only accept US funds, I'm afraid. You have two choices:
1) Pay with a credit card, either online or via the mail-in form. We will charge the appropriate amount in US dollars; the bank will automatically convert it to sterling for you. In other words, we would charge $40, but it would show up on your statement as 21 pounds or thereabout.
2) Go to a bank and ask for a money order drawn in US currency, and then mail it to us with your registration form. There's usually an extra charge for this
