This is the thread for all of the furs out there that are saying that AC '07 is going to be thier first AC! You see, I have noticed, as we all have, that there are A LOT of new AC goers and that they/we have been talking about us being new and the such. But its all been in a bunch of different threads. So I decided to make a thread that lets us all talk in one 'organized' (yea right) area. *scratches at ear* It seems my brain slowly had a brain fart as i wrote this. But i hope you get the idea. Well, anywho, hello all new AC Goers! |

You're^ =^.^= I remember actually watching something on tv where they discussed the difference between a newb and a noob... least I think it was on tv... I hate my memory.
And Hello! I'm sure most of yall recognise me as being one of the new AC goers but I figure I'd post it here. I mean... why not? And the mind blanks. I need more sleep and less work. Toodles!

permalinkhi! i've yet to go to a fur con, anthrocon might be my first or second furry con depending if i go to morphicon in may. However, i'm not new to the convention platform as i've been to 13 conventions (anime and ham radio)
I tried writting a little book called "conventional wisdom" that told about some crazy con stories but never got very far into it.
Anyways, I even made myself a fursuit to fit in. I love roke playing so when i saw a video of antrhcon 2006, i was hooked and HAD to get my own suit. My parents were proud of my suit too and made me show it to all the relatives over thanksgiving, lol how embarrassing.
So where's the best place to eat around the lawerence convention center for under $25 a meal? my life revolves around food. Even though i'll be eating my own food most of the time, i want to splurge and get one mid range meal.

When you go to pick up your badge for AC, they give you a wonderful packet. Inside they have an extensive list of places to eat! I was very happy to note that most of them where within walking distances! whee! i cant wait for AC!

Yay, another ham radio fur!
We actually had a ham-radio workshop last year which consisted of a "foxhunt". It involved locating a hidden transmitter that broadcasted an oscilating signal followed by the CW of the callsign every 30 seconds. It was lots of fun.
We also had quite a few QSOs going on over a frequency in the two meter band during the con.

I myself am not a Ham Radio person, but one of my friends told me of it (when was that, two years ago almost?) and even since then i have REALLY wanted to get a License and a Radio. And then i heard of AC and then the "Fox Hunt" and that just made it even 'worse'. But oh well. I hope to get a License soon, but unlikly.

Go pick up a copy of the book Now You're Talking!: All You Need to Get Your First Ham Radio License. Used copies are selling for as cheap as $4.00.
It covers lots of basic ham radio material and has all of the exam questions in the back.

Well add one (maybe 2 more) to that list. I've been looking at the vids on YouTube and it's really got my attention. I then MSN'ed a friend of mine and told her that I am in the "Most likely going" area, and of course, she got all excited and we dicussed how we would plan things (Yes even though AC 07 is 214 days away).
On a second note: I am pretty familar with some parts of the convention center, since I have been there 3 times since '01 for a car show.

New here as well but I'm meeting 4 people at the butler room where you get the badges (regular attenders) so I cant wait to go. I had to get a map of the hotel and convention center they are so huge, I hope I don't get lost. I wish I knew how to sew so I could make a suite. I hope to have enough to stay for the whole con, perhaps I can room with someone.

I'm hoping to get some furry con experience at FWA07 prior to coming to AC07. Fortunately, I'm within walking distance of the FWA convention.
Time is passing too slowly for my taste.

It almost makes you wish there was a way to expand and contract time, like some sort of rubberband time thing, so you can make long boring times pass quick but good times last almost forever.... BUT THEN WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE BAND SNAPPED
*runs around screaming like an idiot about rubber band time streams snapping*
Yes I know I am insone
, it's what makes me fun
