Anthrocon 2016 Floor Wars Rules, FAQ, and Signups
For all of our dance-event enthusiasts, both spectator and participants alike, we're excited to announce the return of Floor Wars, hosted by Last-Fur-One, to Anthrocon 2016 for its fifth edition!
Floor Wars is an "all-styles dance battle" event, where furries are pitted head-to-head against each other in a round-robin style competition to see who can out-dance the other to a variety of different music. Floor Wars features both fursuit dancers and non-fursuits, allowing a glimpse of the amazing talent within the community that might be missed otherwise. With lots of energy, fun, and jaw-dropping moves to cheer for, you're guaranteed to have a great time watching the fandom's finest dancers battle for victory on the dance floor. Need an example? There's plenty to find online, such as this one right here.

Can I sign-up at the panel? Unfortunately no. Due to the popularity of the event as well as time constraints, we limit the sign up process to online only. This helps us gauge the size of the year's event, and plan accordingly.
How long can I sign-up online? Through this website link here.
I'm a minor - can I still sign up? Yes! Our event welcomes all competitors aged 13 and older.
Are props allowed? Only clothing "props", such as a scarf, are allowed. See the "Restrictions" in our Rules.
What kind of music will be played? Floor Wars is an all-styles dance battle, meaning songs from various genres will be randomly played for each round.
How can I prepare for Floor Wars? As a potential competitor, practice doing "freestyle" (unrehearsed) dancing to a variety of different music genres. As a spectator, buy a pack of cough drops for all the cheering and yelling.
Any other questions and/or comments can be sent to (they are the same organizers). We hope to see you supporting the amazing talent within the community, whether on the stage or in the crowds cheering. See you at Anthrocon!
I'm interested in the floor-wars in fursuit, but it says 2 on 2 and I don't have a dance partner, or am I reading this incorrectly as I thought it was usually 1 on 1 like at FWA? (This is my first AC)
It'll be 2-versus-2 for Anthrocon, as it was last year. Every convention has different formats, and the format is announced with the sign ups. See the website linked in the post for details!
Im a fursuiter and I did this last year, I do not have a partner this year so If anyone wants to be my partner PM me!
Since its a 2 person group for the fursuits, if I have a dance partner, do we sign up sepertely or sign up under the same form (since on the sign up form it says stuff like "badge(s)", "team name" etc.)
You would be signing up using the same form. Use commas to seperate each badge name :)
Why are the feetpaws/slippers a must? What if someone has a partial without them and wants to compete (like myself)? Some people may not have been able to afford those items, rendering them unable to participate.. I'm just curious, no disrespect meant.
I assume it's because a fursuit dancer with regular shoes on would have an advantage over others wearing footpaws, due to their construction and sole material.
The extended rules suggest borrowing footpaws from a fursuiting friend if you don't have your own - I'm sure no one will mind if they don't quite match!
Hey, if you don't have a partner, can you still sign up and be paired with someone who doesn't have a partner either, or do you just not sign up?
What age do you have to be?
nevermind i see it
