So I'm new to the fandom and behind on the reservations. Planning on coming to the con but don't know a lot about the hotel situation. I see that the closest hotels are bookes but am considering booking the Renaissance. I am worried I will feel a little left out not being in the closest hotels but is that silly to worry about?  Are there a lot of people staying at the Renaissance too since it is on the anthrocon page?  I am hoping to meet a lot of new people and want to make the most out of it so any advice will be great!  Also, are there any issues walking from the Renaissance to the convention center in fursuit?  Never been in public like that so I don't quite know what to expect. Like I said, I'm new ;D

You dont; need to worry about beign in any of our partner hotels; there will be plentiful other furries in each of them. There's not a lot of lobby-lingering in the hotels except for the Courtyard, Westin, and Omni- but you'll see plentiful folks passing through.

The only real issue in coing from the Renn to the David LAwrence Convention Center (DLCC) is that it's an outdoor walk in summer; there's occasionally rain and it can be very warm. Anthrocon does run a shuttle service during most of the convention, it can be crowded but will take you right to the Renn. Familiarize yourself with the route in advance, and walk it once in street clothes first if you can before trying it in fursuit.

It's pretty easy walk from the Renaissance to the DLCC. You just have to go down Fort Duquesne Blvd to 10th street. There will be lots of furries at all the hotels. Even when I stayed  at one of the furthest hotels, the Marriott, there were still lots of furries there.

I have been there for the past two years, and will be again this year. The Renn is great and sense suiters don't get out that far you get LOTS of attention, so be ready to be swarmed with pic requests!~

I'm also at the Ren, and I suit as well. It's AMAZING. I love the rooms and the staff.
