Looking for Westin Reservation
My daughter is a huge fursuit fan, fursuiter and artist (she goes by Rogue, which is her Dutch Angel Dragon). We wanted to goto Anthrocon this year, but we're unable to do so because of some real-life challenges. Well, to make a long story short, walking distances is a problem for me (medically) right now, and we would need to be at the Westin to realistically go. Still, her heart is set on it and I very much want to be able to take her this year, but of course the rooms are all sold-out at the Westin Convention Center.
This may be a long-shot, but if someone here who has Westin reservations and are willing to book with another hotel, I will pay them $1,000.00 cash + the cost of the hotel reservations at the Westin - you would make a Grand for relocating from the Westin to another hotel. We would like to be there from Registration day (Thursday (6/30)) through Saturday (July 2) or preferrably Sunday (July 3).
Anyone interested, please contact me at .
I don't have what you're asking for. However, I have some information you might be able to use.
A) This is the wrong forum for any sort of room request. It's for general questions about
any of the hotels. The Room Share fora are for people who want rooms, roommates, and so on.
In this particular case, you'd have your best chance-if there's any chance- if you make
a new thread in the "Room Share-Need a Room" and label it accordingly-
that you're offering a cash bonus in exchange for a full room at the Westin.
(For example, "Seeking a full room at the Westin-will pay a cash bonus for the room!")
If you label it "looking for Westin Reservation", people will probably think you're looking
for room-space in a room reserved in the Westin, not that you want a whole room.
B) The Courtyard by Marriott is a few YARDS away from the Westin. If you NEED a room that's
very close, you should extend your offer to the Courtyard as well. In fairness, it's a smaller
hotel and many AC attendees would consider participating in the Hunger Games to get a room
there, so most who DO have a room there will grip them tightly. However, if offered enough
money, someone who WANTS the room but does not NEED the room might made the trade and be
very happy about it. (Anything that can increase your odds can't hurt...)
C) I'm sure you already checked, otherwise I'd point out the idea of going out-of-block to
get a room. As it turns out, I just tried, and the Westin, the Courtyard, and the Hampton Inn
(all the super-close hotels) seem to be completely booked for the dates you specified.
If there were vacancies, that would make more sense than trading a cash bonus, since
the rack-rate for the room should be cheaper than your offer. However, there's no vacancies.
D) I've already checked, but it's not a bad idea to look over the forum called
"Room Share-Room to Offer" on the off-chance someone's got a reservation they're looking to
turn over because they have an emergency. (Right now, the only one that MIGHT be open
is for a room at the Renaissance.)
E) A few people use those motorized scooters during AC. Perhaps you might want to join them
if you can't walk far unaided. (The DLCC Convention Center is a BIG place all by itself.)
F) I have no idea if these people can help you, but I would check just in case...
If you have difficulty walking, you might want to consider the information supplied in
You probably will NOT be able to travel on the convention supplied shuttle with it, but it might also address your problem with walking in a different manner.
Try contacting the Courtyard directly and see if they have any rooms available to the general public at full rate. They allocate fewer than half of their rooms for Anthrocon's discount reservations, after all.
I already checked. Completely full.
Would you consider sharing a room with others? There are at least 4 people with Westin reservations in the Room to Offer forum who are looking for roommates. One even has a suite if you are worried about privacy.
There are indeed Westin rooms where the reservers are looking for roomies
to split the room. However, the one with the suite downsized his room
from a suite, and said they no longer have free space. The others will
probably fill their spaces soon, so it's a good idea to contact them
In other news, I wonder if the Original Poster's even checking this
thread at all. I hope so, for his own benefit.
And, if he was checking the fora I mentioned, he might have found this thread:
I linked that thread to this thread. Perhaps that poster will do this poster's
work FOR him and contact him.
