Hey all! I saw a post on the Facebook group a little while ago saying that the traffic in/near Pittsburgh was currently at "record highs". I'd like to plan accordingly, because I don't want to arrive too much later than expected.

Could somebody please provide some updates on traffic? (Or recommend a good way for me to keep an eye on it?) I'm leaving on Thursday and have a 5-6 hour trip from NJ WITHOUT traffic, so I want to make sure we don't get there at like... midnight, lol.

Thanks!! Can't wait to see you all next week :huggle:

You can check LIVE traffic in google maps. Alternatively you can ask the app for directions and enter date and time you'll be driving there and it'll show you any planned roadwork and estimated traffic for that time of day. There might be increased ammount of cars due to 4th July weekend. I'm leaving from NY on Tuesday night myself to avoid problems like last year.

The "record highs" are in reference to the Liberty Tunnel and Liberty bridge being closed at points for construction and there being construction on 376 near the Fort Pitt tunnel. Also part of 279 is closed due to a massive construction project on the HOV lanes

Namrepus apparently lives in Rostraver, PA which is south of Pittsburgh by 20 miles or so.  He may be well aware of Pittsburgh's traffic.

To avoid problems with parents, read this before you talk to them about furry:  http://www.anthrocon.org/node/25587/age-questions-how-talk-parents-general-other-things

This is relative to me also- my friends and I are carpooling from northern NJ as well.
