Despite rumors to the contrary, we have plenty of availability at all of Anthrocon's hotel's for 2017.  None of them are sold out.  We were obliged to limit the number of rooms that were available for supersponsors ahead of time (which we hope our generous supersponsors understand was necessary) to ensure that everyone had an opportunity to get his or her first-choice hotel.

Please remember, though, that even with our efforts to keep a large number of rooms available, those rooms are going to go very fast.  The Courtyard is expected to be sold out almost immediately.  The Westin will be sold out almost as fast, and we suspect that the new Drury will likewise sell out quickly because it is a tiny hotel to begin with.

So please remember, when we open on Thursday, February 2, at 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, there will be several thousand people clicking away all at once.  If you do not see a hotel listed, it means that it is sold out for at least one of the days that you have selected.  If that happens, try shortening your stay -- it could be that only the first or last nights are sold out.  It is often possible (though not always guranteed) that we can add another room to the block if someone wants to stretch a reservation a day before or after.  If the hotel still does not appear, it means that our available room block has been filled.

The reservation system is operated by the Housing Office of VisitPittsburgh.  Anthrocon has absolutely no control over it and we cannot assist with any technical issues.  Should something go awry, the hard-working staff members there are going to be ready to help.  Their email address and phone number will be available on the main page.

Anthrocon's organizers understand that getting a hotel room for our convention can sometimes be frustrating and we earnestly wish that there was something we could do to ensure that everyone gets the perfect room, but the simple fact is that there are only a limited number of rooms at each hotel.  Every year we remind the city of Pittsburgh that they promised us another hotel tower; perhaps someday (and perhaps even this year?) we may be large enough that we bring the city the funds they need to get the project started!

Thank you for working so hard to make this easy on us. My husband supersponsored this year and we had no trouble getting the hotel we wanted, the process was easy and smooth for us, so you're certainly doing something right!

visitpittsburgh was VERY kind and helpful and because of them and the system, I have my prized double in the Westin.

Shout Out to Gail for visitpittsburgh!

You guys weren't kidding about the Drury Plaza hotel selling out fast. There were no supersponsor slots left about three minutes after the email was sent! Good luck to those wanting to snag a room there.

We may still be waiting for that second hotel tower, but at least they're building more hotels with better amenities.

For the time being, we're avoiding hotel partners on the North Shore, due to the logistical problems of running shuttles as well as the increased distance. We likely do not need to consider them until convention attendance passes 10,000.

If I understand you correctly, are you saying we have more rooms than we would ever need?

I feel the need to just say booking went quite smooth for me, and I'm thankful.
And.. quite please to be settled into going, and that comfort of a booked hotel room Sticking out tongue

Although, woah! I think the Drury filled before even the Westin? :0

The Drury is a modest-sized hotel, and we have a modest-sized block with them for this first year. It proved very popular!

Since this was our first year with them, they did not want to offer us a very large block, just in case nobody wanted to stay there.  I suspect that we'll have a much bigger block in 2018!

In case nobody wanted to stay there? o.O  Have they, I don't know, looked at their own hotel and amenities?  I mean, free drinks, at a fur con?

Well, I'm lucky enough to be staying there, I'll just have to make sure they feel properly appreciated, I guess!

apparently they have no clue what a furry is (but they will love the money that comes in) or how big the furry fandom is and how quickly we can fill their hotel to capacity, wishing they had double the rooms to fill because we make the city and themselves an INSANE amount of money (millilions in a weekend) by having AC & soo many wanting to attend, they will be begging us to fill every room with furries every each yr. Then they will change their minds if "anyone is going to attend or even book a room with us" lol. hotel rooms are at prime at AC, demand is high & rooms are becoming more scarce and go for an ever higher rate, more demand then suppy of rooms as more furs want to attend AC!
