Suites at the Westin
Please visit our forums for the latest announcements and discussion.

A few folks have already asked about suites at the Westin. We're going to start taking suite reservations in mid-January. There will be an announcement on our front page and in Anthrocon's Livejournal Community with the suite rates and instructions for reserving one. As we did last year, we are going to be requiring a one-night deposit for each suite reserved. This is not required for standard hotel rooms -- only for suites. That deposit will be credited toward your bill when you check out, but please note that it will not be refunded if you cancel your suite reservation or if you do not show up. This is necessary to discourage people from snatching up all of the suites 6 months out, and then canceling them en masse the day before the convention when it is too late for anyone else to change their plans. |

uncle kage, if I may recommend ( like last year you did ), can you post some maps or images of the suites?
cause I have found noone, and some friends even asked what the suits looks like, not sure if people interested in these suites wonder too.

I have a parlor suite reserved and was wondering the same thing. Did you ever find any pictures? Starwood's website only goes so far as to say the parlor is 708sf and the king bedroom is 300sf... But I really am curious as to pictures, perhaps from last year? If you've not found anything, I'll make a new post asking the general con-going populace.

I've no photos. All I have is a line-art floorplan, which I don't think would be of terribly much help.
Giza, you're a shuttercat. Did you get any pictures of a corner suite?

I don't think I have any pictures of the corner suites, but I can briefly describe the layout:
When entering a corner suite, there is a hallway off in one direction, and a door in the other. If you go down the hallway, you'll get into the living room, which is about 10 feet by 10 feet. If you open the door, you'll be in the bedroom which is about 10 by 15 feet, plus the bathroom.
I'll see if I can get some pictures of the layout of a corner suite at this year's con.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of the 1-bedroom parlor suite... More curiosity than anything else, but I'll definitely get pictures myself this year if nothing else.

I'd love a floorplan, but...then again, I have a strange love of floorplans, I'd go to model homes just to look at them.

what about using points to upgrade. Im told you use 1k points to upgrade to a suite. Will we still need the deposit if we are going to use points to upgrade from a regular room?

I checked with Starwood Customer Service. Starpoint upgrades are not available during the dates of our convention. The upgrade is processed 5 days before arrival, and by that time all of the suites will have been accounted for.

Do we know what floor suites are on? Near the top?

Suites are distributed throughout the hotel. There is a corner suite on each floor (specifically, as the name implies, in the corner). The rest are scattered here and there.
