Why am I charged extra at Mariott?

I've emailed Mariott but I'm still waiting (rather impatiently). I noticed that the charges just don't add up. $119 x 3nights +$16.66 Tax doesn't equal $406. Can anyone tell me where the extra $30 came from? I'm hoping it's just like a security deposit thing that'll be reimbursed when they see we left the room nice and neat but if not I wanna know where it came from! I'm glad to have gotten the special rate and saved $200 from the reservation I had there but, yeah... still want info.

I believe that it is $16.66 tax per night. That would make it [$119 + $16.66] X 3nights = $406.98. At least that's the way it normally works. You'll need to wait to hear from the Mariott to make sure.

What he said. At every hotel I've stayed at, tax is levied on a per-night basis. I don't know why the Mariott would be any different in this regard.

I agree with the other commenter, as it IS 16.66 or thereabouts EVERY night you stay...
