Our charity this year is the Wildlife Center of the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania, the region's premiere shelter for injured and orphaned wildlife. The staff and volunteers of the Center are very excited to be the recipients of Anthrocon 2009's Charity Auction proceeds -- so excited, in fact, that they have arranged a reception and tour of their facility for Anthrocon members on Wednesday evening, July 1, from 7-9 PM. They are offering snacks and a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face (or -beak, or -muzzle) with some of their residents. Raptors, corvids, terrapins, procyonids, mephits, and many others are waiting to greet you!
The cost for the outing (we are here to offer our support to these hardworking folks, remember!) is $20 per person, and transportation is available from the Westin Hotel (about an 8 mile trip) for an extra $10 per person.
In order to help our friends plan for the arrival of their Furry (with a capital "F") friends, we ask that interested parties sign up in advance. We need to hear from you by Monday, June 29, though, so do not dally. The Center has set up some very convenient secure web sites to help you sign up and make your payment at the same time.
CLICK HERE if you do not need transportation to the Center. The cost is $20.
CLICK HERE if you need transportation to the Center. The cost is $30, which includes transportation to and from the Center. Departure time is 6:45 PM sharp.
CLICK HERE if you are not able to accompany us on this outing but would like to support the Center with a donation anyway.
Two very important notes!
(+) Refreshments will not include any alcoholic beverages due to certain PA state regulations.
(+) We adore our fursuiters, but please do not wear or bring any fursuits to the Center. Not only might they cause unnecessary alarm to some of the resident animals, but be advised that this is a working wildlife rehabilitation facility and conditions are not condusive to bulky, restrictive or difficult-to-launder suits.
I have a silly question, my friend and i would like to go to this and i'm trying to sign up for it, the only thing is i live in Canada so what exactly do i put when it asks for what state? XD
And are we allowed cameras?
Don't see why not!
"Province."
Hey Uncle Kage, quick question...will you guys have a list to check off with names, where we check in with you so we can get our transportation, or what? I'm curious as to know, so me and my mate, best friend and Her mate, can be ready! And what is the dress code for this? Casual?

On the dress code, I call your attention to Uncle Kage's last statement referring to fursuits: "...be advised that this is a working wildlife rehabilitation facility and conditions are not conducive to bulky, restrictive or difficult-to-launder suits." I'd take that remark about 'difficult to launder' as an indication...
If Kage replies in some way contrary to this, take his word on it, not mine.
I would like to go to this but am coming from the uk, what do i do when it asks for state? i dont live in a state.
Try just putting "UK"
Signed up n ready to go!!!

5 DAYS!!
it has list to select from, cant type uk
Email the Wildlife Center directly, please, at jargall-at-animalrescue.org
Question, will the tour start right away or will there be some hanging out and snacking at first? Reason I ask is my flight comes in at 6:25 and although I do have someone to pick me up and drive me there by car right away, its still a 40 min drive and we won't be there right on time. Wouldn't want to miss out on all the little critters!

There's no harm in being fashionably late.
I really want to attend this, I’m coming from the UK so yesterday I fired off an email to the centre as others have been instructed and I’ve had nothing back. If all else fails, would it be possible to pay on the day?

Signed up and excited! Both me and my mate are going ^_^
