Doubletree?

I'm playing the ABSOLUTE LAST MINUTE hotel hunting game (it's not as fun as they say, by the by).

I called the Doubletree to inquire if they had the $165 suites available (because I'd seen that the hotels page had been updated recently). The guest rep at the hotel told me that yes, there had been cancellations for the Anthrocon block. He transferred me to a reservations rep who told me there was nothing available.

So, my question is, does anyone know if there ARE available rooms from cancellations at any of the con hotels? And how would I go about snagging one if there are?

I'm not TERRIBLY concerned. I mean, I'd like to get the con rate at one of the con hotels and know where I'm at exactly, but I also have been scoping out two other hotels in the vicinity. It's really a matter of convenience at this point, which is why I'm curious.

Also, I'm not looking to room with anyone, I have three or four other people in my group, so we're aiming for our own room.
