What a time we've had! 3776 attendees. 640 fursuiters in our parade. Almost $9000 in charity donations to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania. "2" the Ranting Gryphon in a sequined blazer.
We are very grateful to our kind guests of honor, Mr. Joseph Harris, Mr. Ben Balistreri, and Mr. Robert Boyle, who seemed quite happy with their stay. We are very much hoping that they will grace us with their presence at future conventions.
Our 2010 convention is scheduled for June 24-27, 2010, right back at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA, with the theme of "Modern Stone-Age Furries." We hope to see all of you back there next year, along with many new friends. We're going to take a bit of a break until September, so watch this space after Labor Day for information on the 2010 convention. In the meantime, here are some useful links for those who attended:

AC/BC 2010
Furries. Meet the Furries.
At their Modern Stone-Age Anthrocon.
In the town of Pittsburgh,
We just know they're gonna have some fun.
Let's stride with a furry down the street.
See the happy faces that he greets.
When you're with the Furries
You'll have a yiffy diffy doo time.
A "yiffy doo" time?
You'll have a *record scratch*
[Um... Hmm. Sigh. Oh well...] *scratch*
You'll have a gay old time!
(Im probably not the first, and I won't be the last.)
Great con, Uncle K, et al! See everyone there next year. Bring a friend!
I misread one of those lines as "Let's ride a furry down the street." 8-(
Bad brain. No donut.
We have so got to record this! Poor Hoyt Curtin will be rolling in his grave.
I wasn't able to make it this year, but definitely would like to next year.
Taking a break until September sounds great. Can we include not opening up hotel reservations until then, too? It'd be nice to not have to worry about rushing to reserve a room, or even think about trip planning until at least then.
Hotel reservations for AC 2009 did not open until October last year. I would assume that a similar time frame will apply for AC 2010. Likely the opening date for reservations will be announced sometime after Labor Day with the rest of the convention information.
I will be there next year I live in Pitt and I love furries heck I am one lol please keep me updated on the con I wold love to go
I had a great time at AC. See Ya at Megaplex!
(PS: PLEASE get con rates at the Courtyard Marriott again for next years AC!)
So does that mean that the Hotel bookings will be available in September then?
No. We are delaying those until 2010.
oh yeah, and I had a blast too.
I ended up somehow being too busy this year at the Con, go figure.
I'm hoping on going to ac 2010.
I would like to thank the board and staff for the wonderful time my family and I had this year. We had a lot of fun volunteering and attending various con functions. It was our first time at AC and all of the staff and boards members we met were great. I am hoping that we will be able to afford to go again next year (especially since I earned a free registration for my volunteer hours).
We'd like to thank you for volunteering.
It's the hard work put in by our volunteers that helps us put on the convention to begin with!
i hope i get to go next year. i wasn't able to come for Anthrocon 09
Mind if I ask when I sign up for next year? It said something about pre-registration are set for Setp but so far I can't figure out what to do. Please forgive my naive state, its just that this will be the first one I go to.
The Registration system is undergoing an upgrade that's not yet finished. When it's done, we'll have it at http://www.anthrocon.org/registration .. just keep checking back every week or so.
Thank you for the reply.
Is there at least a place here where I can find
out how much this will cost me?
Last year's prices at the earliest possible pre-registration were $40 for Attending, $90 for Sponsor, and $175 for Supersponsor. We will not be announcing next year's prices until Registration is formally opened; they will be correspondent if potentially increased.

Specially, the registration system, which exists as a Drupal module, needs to be updated from Drupal 5 to Drupal 6.
I'm upgrading this website itself to Drupal 6 over the weekend. Once that's done, I'll start on the registration module. This is my shopping list: http://drupal.org/node/114774 (though only about a dozen of those items apply here)
So what is Modern Stone-Age Furries??

AnthroCon 2009 was a blast! I wish that I had enough time, or at least doubles to visit all the panels that I wanted to go to and I look foward to AnthroCon 2010!!
