You need to get a room. In the room, you can sleep in a sleeping bag or on the floor if
you want. A room is required, a bed is optional.
LOL it sounds funny but still 160 dollars for the room
A) $165 is a price for certain SUITES.
The rooms are cheaper, even with tax.
B) For a hotel room in a major city, $165 dollars would not be that bad. For a SUITE,
it's excellent.
C) Rooms are not required to have ONE PERSON in them. They can have up to 4 people
staying in them. Quad rooms, of course, have 2 double-beds. If you share a quad room
with more than 2 people, then either 2 of you (or more) share a bed, or one (or more)
of you sleep on the floor or in a sleeping bag. If you share a room with even ONE
person, you also SPLIT THE COSTS OF THE ROOM. So, if you shared a $165 dollar SUITE
with two people, that's one big bed plus (IIRC) a folding couch, and the cost is split
3 ways, meaning you'd each pay $165/3 per night, or $55/night (plus tax.)
If you're splitting a quad room 3 ways, it's less divided 3 ways, and even less if you
have 4 people split a quad room.
D) If you are 10, 11, or 12 years old, you obviously will not have that sort of money.
Therefore, you will either be brought by your parents, who will pay for the room-
or you will wait until you turn 18. If you begin saving a little money each year until
you turn 16, then start saving each month once you're 16, then by the time you're
at least 18, you'll have more than enough money to attend AnthroCon.
(That's independent of needing your parents' permission to attend AnthroCon if you're
under 18, which is why you will either come with them, or save up until you're legally
considered an adult and responsible for yourself.)
i am gonna have my mom and dad there so what room would i need to get i would sleep on the counch i real like then for some reson
With your parents there, a room with two Double beds would probably be the best option; or one with a single King bed failing that. We shuold have plenty of rooms across our hotels (Westin, Omni, Doubletree).

thanks
To provide a somewhat practical reference, this year I had a double-bed room reserved and after all the taxes and fees it worked out to about $130 a night. A single room would have been the same price. Compared to the regular rates that's about half price, so really the convention does an awesome job getting us a discounted rate. Split equally between multiple guests the individual cost will drop significantly. Also, even if you and your parents reserved a single room (one king bed), a rollaway bed can be requested from the hotel at no extra charge so you wouldn't have to sleep on the floor. I hope you'll be able to join us next year!

Always remember that hotels have limited numbers of things for special requests.
Therefore, there's no guarantee any request will get fulfilled-
like a rollaway bed, or a specific floor.
So, go ahead and hope you get it, but understand you may not, and plan for what
to do if you don't (sleeping bag, sleeping on the carpet with pillows and a cover
from the King bed, etc.)

You do need to sleep in a room.
