This year, neither of the fursuit-friendly dances were held in the Spirit of Pittsburgh ballroom. They were both in the Pennsylvania ballroom, in the Westin. I enjoyed both, but I thought that room was a bit 'out-of-the-way', and it was a bit strange having two different locations for dances. What caused the room switch?

Myself, I'd be more willing to go to the normal dances if those and the fursuit dances were held in the bigger ballroom. Going back to the SoP ballroom could increase the turnout for the fursuit dances, too (especially if the normal dance follwed the fursuit dance).

What lead to moving the fursuit dances to another room was the insistence of fursuiters on a few things: One, having a fursuit dance. Two, having MORE time at the dance be dedicated to 'fursuit friendly' dancing (lights up, lower volume, etc). Three, having the fursuit dance not be in a room full of chairs.

We're not going to move the fursuit dances back to the ballroom because having them seperate has been a huge success. They may not stay in the same room in the Westin, but they will definately continue to be held in a seperate room, simultaneously with the main dances.
