hello i am GreyWolf and I have been a ddr fur for about 2 yrs now, and that is how I got into the furry fandom, I usually wearing my tail xP, especially playing So Deep or Twilight Zone
, anyway if you wanna see some pics or videos of me playing just check out my profile and my myspace account will be there, though I hate it when little kids come up and pull on my tail while I am playing its annoying >.>

My question is do we even have anyone who is takeing charge in running a DDR tourny this year? If no one is just let me know and I will pack up my computer and bring it with me along with two arcade pads I can run SM in arcade mode and I have over 800 songs plus I will inable thumbdrive saves in it.

permalinkTiger of the Wind ran the tournament last year. If there are no major complaints about how he ran it, we'd like to let him do it again (assuming he wants to as well and is coming to AC this year).
Your setup sounds impressive though, you are welcome to bring it if you're willing. We keep the room rather secure, no one has ever lost/had anything stolen that I'm aware of. The only damaged equipment was DDR pads in the tournaments, but that's sort of the norm for foampads.

Let me see what unfolds. I know for the past years that I went they always used JP version of Extreme for the event. And really there is no use for me to bring pads and a computer if it's just for free play. Mainly due to me most likely not staying at the con hotel due to price.

Wow! Personally I'd take SM with arcade pads over some foam pads with DDR Ex(JP) anyday!

I'd like to put in a request for some open DDR (where anyone can play, not involved in a tournament). I tried it at another con last year and had a blast, but I'm nowhere near good enough to enter a tournament, unless there's generous handicapping for age.

Well if I have my tower and pads with me and as long as they give me a table to put the stuff on I might still bring my SM setup. Only thing is and I will have a write up on what songs they are. But some of them are just not ment to be done on your feet. So ya some of the songs are going to be really tuff... I know what songs they are and I will have a printout of what songs I sujest staying away from. But other then that I have about everything there is to offer in the way of machine dance.

If we're going to do a thing of open DDR, we'll need a whiteboard to put names up on. That way we have some semblance of order with it.

I've never had any issues with open DDR. You walk up, and if anyone's playing, you ask the people surrounding if they're playing. If not, you're next; if so, you ask how the line is.

permalinkI second that request. I would definately play open DDR ,but i'm definately NOT good enough to play in a tournament(unless you want to see some baaaad DDR dancing).

I was in the DDR tourney last year, and played a fair share of DDR at other times. I liked the way the tourney was run, no interest in changing it too much. The Stepmania idea is fine, but definitely not for a tourney. Maybe something separately run.

If by one of them you mean someone who prefers not to have to skim through hundreds of crap files for one song that I like, you are correct, sir.

Been a fan since the first American mix was release, though back then I was playing DDR 3rd Mix in the arcade a few months before the American release. My first song ever was 'Boom Boom Dollar', which I've gone from playing at Easy to Heavy Mode (I dare not try it on SSR mode!). Now a days, I've been trying to improve myself. Playing heavy songs more often at the arcade. :3 My favorite song happens to be, probably the most obvious, "era (nostalmix)" which I can do on all levels. (Surprisingly!)

I play it alot but you wouldn't call me an obsessed player. I've never played Stepmania but am open to it. Though I have been on a sort of 'quest' as you would say to play a certain song. Haha. I'm a totaly dork.

permalinkIt was mentioned that last year was the final DDR tournament, which is fine. Non-freestyle competitive DDR has been dead for years already. I'd be up for a freestyle tournament, though!
I started playing DDR back in 2000 and have been disappointed with all the recent releases. It's all pop and R&B instead of actual DANCE SONGS. Take the soundtrack to Kiss Me Guido or Queer as Folk. Songs that make you want to DAAAANCE.

permalinkMy favorite song is Saints go Marching...only song that I've ever AA'ed. I've been playing ever since the Extreme for the arcade.

My experience in DDR's only about a year and a half, but I usually play 11-12 footers on In The Groove, so I'd like to say I'm pretty high on the food chain. As far as songs go, my favorite songs tend to be the hard ones - PSMO, Max(including Period.), things of that nature. I like Sakura especially just because the song's so pretty. I'm definitely excited for the DDR tournament, assuming there is one, though I'll probably be owned somewhat hard by some people I imagine, haha.
