Will I still be able to book a room if...
My credit card expires in July 2010, and AC is a week before June 23-27, I have heard that hotels won't let people book if their CC's are that close to expiration.
Will the Westins let me book the room, or should I get a new card?
Thanks.
I see, like for my Visa, apparently if I get a new card I will have to change numbers, but I will see if I can ask em to send it a few months early so I can start using the new card earlier.
Huh, that's strange, since every time I've had a card expire, the new one would have the same number. Wouldn't hurt to try and get a card issued with a new expiration date this early out, though.
Random story from Anthrocons past: I remember a couple years ago, my Anthrocon credit card (like, what I use to pay for webhosting with) expired in July, and the con was in July. I was particular nervous about that, and ended up getting a new card like a month in advance.
I will use my Credit card that isn't activated but expires in 2012, I pretty much activate it in January book the room with it, then pay it off, once thats done, everything should be good.
Argh! When I tried to do that Capital one wouldn't let me! *graahrrs grumps*
Maybe if you mailed them a bribe....
Seriously, though, I don't know why they'd reject a similar idea from you. I uploaded my picture and went through the layout setup steps, and a few days later I got an email saying they approved the image card I made. About a week later it showed up in the mail with the exact layout as the online preview showed.
I have heard other people tell similar tales. It comes down to copyright issues. Capital One apparently doesn't want to get embroiled in any disputes over intellectual property; hence, you can't have Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny or anything like that on your card. Some folks have had their furry art rejected because Capital One worried about whether or not the cardowner owned the picture.
Seems you got lucky.
Precisely what Kage said. Their rules technically do not permit 'copyrighted characters', even though I own the copyright on Chiaroscuro.
*gasps*
OMG!!! That is awesome!!! I want one!
Ooooh, intriguing! I wonder if either of my CC's would allow me to do custom art. Yours is gorgeous!
...It's also bitty
Is it just me, or is that one of the teensy ones?
I have been having real scale/spatial issues recently. XD I blame my BJD's, I think in 1/3 and 1/4 scale now.
I am definitely going to have to look into getting a custom card printed with my business logo.
Thanks for the idea!
I have a Visa card and when it expires, as stated, they send you a new card with a new 3-digit code on the back. The credit card number is still the same.
You should be fine.

Greetings, Hypr!
1) The charges you place on a credit card account should be legitimate until the day the card expires - and the card is generally good until the end of the month in which it expires. It should say "valid thru" next to that date.
2) Generally - if you have been a customer in-good-standing, and have made your payments on time and are not showing signs of excessive debt or of an inability to pay, your credit card provider will issue you a new card, usually at the end of the month previous to the one listed in the expiration date. The account number should stay the same. The card is simply a means of identifying and accessing your account.
3) My primary credit card - I only have two, and almost never need to use the _other_ one - usually expires in January, and I've never had a problem reserving my room for FURhter CONfusion (FC), the big San Francisco Bay area Furry Con, for the end of that same month, in the years when my credit card was due to expire.
Perhaps the Westin has a different policy, in which case their representative will be along to correct me shortly - but I would be quite surprised if they did.
